Too Crazed to Concentrate Right Now

My morning started off with me sleeping two hours later than normal. Hubs and I took a slow walk on the icy road only because they were sanded and salted. I wore a new pair of Hunter snow boots in silver and gray for days like this. They worked so well. Hubs held my hand in case either of us slipped. The painter is coming later to look at a built in wall unit to estimate how much more paint is needed. But the wildest part of my morning was getting the results of the skating competition in Lake Placid. Our Ice Princess made the top four, which means she will be able to skate in many future competitions. Yay and so grateful! We have watched her video about 10 times so far. I took that screenshot, but we are waiting for professional photos from the photographer and texting back and forth like lunatics. Keep stopping my myLot discussion to reply…… She was on the old Olympic ice rink for over two minutes and had to cover the entire space. She skated to a mellow song and switched to one that was very peppy. The judges scared the heck out of me. So stern looking. Well done skate if I must say so myself! Now to reply to more texts and a new video from her mother. See you later.

Very much happening at your end! Great going by your Grand daughter. Some judges perhaps convey an artificial "sternness" externally!

@DianneN Perhaps the show organizers ask them to behave like that!

@DianneN Yes, but I haven't seen such a show since long time since we haven't been using TV since a long time.

As usual, thank you! I’ve seen many judges in action. They all have faces like stone, scribble on paper and computers, and are uncompassionate. A smile of encouragement or a nod of the head before a scary competition wouldn’t kill them. Sheesh! They are so intimidating to me.

I'm glad you and your hubby got out and enjoyed some beautiful sunshine today, even if it is a bit nippy outside. Congrats to your granddaughter! I'm sure she'll do well in the competitions!

@DianneN We made it up to freezing today. Nobody will walk with me when it's cold outside and I won't go by myself. *shrug* You're welcome. I'm sure she'll get it. Give her a little time.

It’s been in the upper 20s all day. We walk no matter the weather. Thanks so much. She needs to learn her double axel and move on. What a day!

I did need it. Living on fumes for the last few days. Thanks so much. I am watching the Olympics now and stopped to watch her video. She did many of the same moves, although she has several levels to go.

Thanks, but nah. She has no interest in the Olympics. Wants a normal life with high school, friends, and her coveted summer camp.

She has no interest in being in the Olympics anymore. Drat! Otherwise, she would have skipped summer camp like her friends did. Thanks so much. She loves skating and competition, but likes a normal life a bit more. And I’m still so proud of her
