My Brother said he Doesn't want to live anymore

A very awful day today...
We went to the doctor today they prescribed him a new medication to start in the morning it's called aripiprazole he's going to be taking it every morning, and continue taking Olanzapine at night.
They also discussed mental health facilities, he refused the inpatient, but they brought up a outpatient only problem can't begin for 6 weeks.
They also brought up the National Alliance on Mental Illness that will help us as a family help him and us.
All was fine till a few hours ago, he sent me a extremely scary text saying if he went anywhere he would not want to live, I called non emergency myself as I felt he was a extreme risk to himself.
We talked to them for about a hour but since we do not own weapons they felt he would be safe here, they said if anything changes to call them again. I just feel extremely helpless here they took forty minutes to get here and several minutes to even answer there phones.
I'm hoping we can get him into a place and be agreeable my Uncle is going to try to help us convince him on Saturday. I just hope it will work...
I'm just scared for my brother's safety and I need help from the professions they need to take him in get his medication right so he is a non threat to himself at home.
Please pray for us I am so tired....

@chrissbergstrom .......I hope he appreciates your efforts. Sounds like a very tough time for you. I went through this sort of thing and we are at the other end of it and had a positive outcome. I hope you do too.

@celticeagle I really don't think he realizes how much this effects me and my mom to. And I feel selfish for even talking about myself because I can't imagine how it is for him, but it's a lot I so t think I'm emotionally equipped to handle it... We helped my sister whom is a addict for many years but we continued to see her not attempt to get help and get worse and steal and lie we had to let go and pray to God she found her way back that was over ten years ago

Oh, I am so sorry. Depression is frightening to deal with and even harder to find the right help in a timely manner for someone. It sounds like you are doing everything you can to help him.

It's taking a heavy toll on me and my mom to we try to keep him calm and when we are by ourselves for a minute we will cry and let our our frustration to each other I just wish it were easier to help him

Yes it is so hard, even harder when I already suffer from severe depression so trying to help him is so hard as it makes me so sad to see him like that.

We start new meds for him tomorrow, and hopefully things begin to improve if not we have agreed we will get him into inpatient and I think he will agree if we tell him it's what we feel is best
