I hope everyone’s had a beautiful day. Some days can be beautiful even when it’s rainy Although I’ll take sunshine any time. I haven’t done much today, a little cleaning, a little furniture polishing and a tad of cooking.
Had a long phone conversation with a sister, I’m lucky to have four sisters and a brother. This sister and I married cousins and we’ve always been close. She had two sons and a daughter. I had three sons. Our kids were close growing up.
Of course as families go, they have grown apart as they got older. Anyway we always have a lot to talk about. Do you have a brother or sister that’s especially close?

Nice photo. I am an only child and my mom was lucky to have me as a very late in life baby. She lost twins and one baby in the DP Camps in Germany during WW II so if that had not happened I would have had plenty of siblings,

I do not. But had a couple of very close cousins that were like siblings because I spent a lot of time with them when mom would drop me off for weeks at a time at her siblings homes.
mom had 2 brothers that married sisters and those cousins were called " double cousins" as they had the same blood and genes you might say
their moms were sisters and their dads brothers. So it was almost like they were sisters and brothers. Confusing right?

@RubyHawk they are close to each other, but at my age, I have lost most of them plus I haven't lived back home Ohio, for many years plus a few have passed away.

No, not confusing at all as I said ,my sister and I married cousins that made our children first and third cousins. Our kids were close growing up but they grew apart later. It’s nice that you have those cousins that are still close.

@bunnybon7 That’s what happens as we grow older. My sons are no longer close to their cousins. They’ve all gone their separate ways.

@rebelann I’m three years older than one sister, seven years older than the next, nine years older than my brother , fifteen years older than my next sister and seventeen years older than the youngest.I feel like I helped raise them all. We were always together from when they were born. We were all at mamas house a large part of time.

How far are you from your sister?
I can say I am closer to my sister. I have 4 brothers and a sister. I am close to one brother, the second brother.
Growing up, we were apart. Now, good thing the pandemic brought us in one home, 3 of us, me, my sister and my 3rd brother.

We don’t live what I call near. Two sisters live about a hundred miles away an two about fifty miles away. My brother about seventy miles. Its not terribly far but during the pandemic we’re all staying close to home. Glad you’re close to some of your siblings and getting closer to others.

@RubyHawk We are scattered except the three of us.
The rest are about 46 miles, 113 miles and the farthest in Abu Dhabi.

I have an aunt that I'm close to because we are almost the same age, she's one year younger than me, while my siblings are all much younger.
We also share the same interests, blogging and writing, so we talked about how her novel is developing.
As for my sisters, we're close too but don't have common topics to talk about.

I am an only child, but my hubby has 3 sisters. 2 of them we are sadly no longer in contact with, but have a great relationship with 1 and her lovely 2 boys. Hopefully the other ones come around someday.
