A peaceful Buddha

My sister has her own house on her son’s five acres. They are both very keen gardeners and grow some stunning plants. There are a great many trees on the property too, giving good shade to the many goats that they have. This water feature is in the back yard of the son’s house.
I don’t think my nephew has particular Buddhist leanings but he is a kind and gentle person. This statue speaks to me of peace and tranquillity. The weldmesh (that’s what it is called here) is to stop the big, boofy, chocolate Labrador from jumping in. I’m checking out all sorts of water features at the moment as we’d quite like to install one where we’re living now.

I'm interested in Buddhism. I like to learn peace and tranquility. Gardens here don't use Buddha statues

I'm a bit surprised at that. I wonder why that is.

With the heat there, I'm curious how much it costs to keep that water feature running like that? Uhm, no, I don't really want to know. It's probably expensive.

@JudyEv I was thinking more about the evaporation of the water. We had a small waterfall that looked very similar to this one that was just outside my bedroom window for years. I had to refill it every morning. (Mine plugged into an outdoor outlet. I loved to listen to it while taking naps. The birds thought it was for them.

@DaddyEvil In the summer, evaporation would be an issue for sure.

I admittedly had to laugh when I saw the title of your discussion because the smart aleck in me said, “Oh, like there’s a violent Buddha?”
I wouldn’t get a waterfall/water garden because of the cost (my water bill is about $80 a month
), but I love the sound of water. So peaceful. In fact, I have water sounds on my iPod to provide “white noise” while sleeping.

Perhaps I can convince them to put something in it.
