My eyes are both fine, finally! I’ve been discharged by my doctor.
No more cataracts to ever worry about again.
Sorry I haven’t been here much, but we have so much going on.
When I said I’ll be busy and not be here much, I had no idea how long I would be away. Just to catch you up on what’s been happening in my life:
New patio almost completed (in photo)
Fire pit coming in 2 weeks
Had a new retaining wall and stairs put in (not in photo)
Raised bed garden being built
Had 15 tree stumps removed in the front of the house
Working with landscaper to enlarge our front yard with more lawn and island
Looking for patio furniture online and in stores - here and in NYC
Went to Florida to close condo for a few days
Daughter-in-law had a birthday party in New Jersey
Ice Princess had a competition in New Jersey
Waiting for the backyard work to get done and have the contractor cleanup, spread soil that was dumped this morning in all the ruts made around the house and new grass seeded
Entertaining friends and family
Cleaning lady chipped baseboards with vacuum and getting it repaired next week
Bought a new car today, but it’s being made in Germany and won’t get it until the end of August
I omitted more, because my list could go on forever!
One more thing, we have to babysit the kitties tonight for my son and his girlfriend.
Anyway, hello again!

Nice congrats, one of my dogs had cataracts you could literately see his eyes were cloudy. Your house project looks good. Sounds like a gratifying project.

Your poor dog. I guess you won't bother having those removed. My doctor saw mine, but otherwise you couldn't tell I had cataracts. However, I knew as they progressively caused "cloudy" vision which blinking couldn't disperse.
Yes, the work in the yard is so exciting and changes the look of everything. Can't wait to make s'mores!!! lol

@crossbones27 OMG! That's so very sad to die of cancer at five years old and to have cataracts at that age! Poor innocent baby
I'm sorry to learn of your bad vision. I didn't know that about you. I once had a student who was legally blind, but she was a trooper and so adorable. I'm wondering now how she's doing. She was in the first grade during my first year of teaching.
Thank you. I am thankful to see well again, but I do need reading glasses most of the time. I don't need glasses for distance anymore.

@DianneN Actually how they caught mine or I would have never known. Teacher literally said she could see my eyes twitch. I started crying like a baby when they told me you not like everyone else and need glasses.
I was like 6
I think reading glasses just a handy thing to have when we get older. Smart lady.

Thanks so much! It was a royal pain for a couple of weeks, but the doc was right - it would work itself out. He caught me reading on my phone without reading glasses when he came into the exam room. Pure luck, because I'm wearing them now LOL!
The second I posted this, our older son called, so just got off the phone with him. Always something!!!

@dodo19 So true. Trying to schedule our second covid booster shots right now, but hubs is out looking around, and we like to go together for our shots. I am waiting for him to get his info so I can finish setting up the appointments. I'm set, but he isn't.

You have been more than busy, Dianne. I have done some things only with the computer. I wish I had someone to help me out with the garden. It is a sort of wilderness

We are exhausted, but invigorated. One thing led to another.
I returned to gardening when covid hit, but my deck could only hold so much. I couldn't handle a huge garden, but the the deerproof one they are putting up is small enough for me to manage in the hot sun

Well hello
!
So glad you are all healed up and all is well with your eyes. Omg, I just saw your post here and I posted something in a similar format . . . I swear I did not copy

. I guess we really do think a lot alike
!
Woh you have been busy indeed! The patio is so cool . . . where is that in relation to your deck (you have so much room out there!).
Nice to see you back . . . I am still behind on everything

.

@DianneN You were in good hands (and now you have good eyes
). Thank goodness for modern advances in science for sure
!
Ah, that must be the stairs (top left) to the deck. Hmmm, our whole property could probably fit on your patio
. Lots of things you could do for relaxing or entertaining - lots of possibilities! Have fun with the it
!

And hello back!
It's so good to see again, honestly. I thought I'd have lifelong problems with that left eye, but the doc kept telling me to trust him.
I saw your post before I read this and chuckled. TWINS!
Thank you! You step off the deck and are on the patio. The patio is much larger than the deck. I decided to use the deck for main dining and flowers and veggies. Now going crazy about furniture. It never ends........
Don't feel badly. I've lost weeks of notifications

How do you ever find time to be on myLot? LOL
By the way, your patio is going to look amazing once it's finished! Make sure to show us the final results!

Thank you! I missed being here, but when I had the time, I was too exhausted.
I can now see movies, TV, trees, birds, etc. without having to wear glasses. However, at times I need reading glasses, which is fine with me. Such a difference in sight! Glad it's over.

You are so funny. Here, one thing led to another as it always does.

@DianneN After the second eye cataract surgery a few months ago, I don't wear glasses. However, I don't strain my eyes too.
My friend remarked a world of difference the cataract surgeries made to his sight. His wife interjected that the only downside was he then realized how old his wife really looked!

Good grief! Thanks for the update, I guess. You have way too much going on at one time. Sorry you couldn't stay in FL longer. Glad that your eyes are better now and that you are back. Keep us posted!!!

It's almost impossible keeping up with everything. We want to be here when the men are working, since there are always questions and changes being made. They work on other jobs when we can't be around. They are wonderful and very prompt. Since they couldn't be here Saturday, we were finally able to buy our car. Too bad we didn't go last month because we may have received it by the end of June or July.
Thank you! It's a relief to see so well after those two surgeries.
