Ooh, what a day!!! It’s lovely! Sunny! Warm!!! And the shorts that wouldn’t fit last year fit perfectly this year!! Thank God for my weight loss!!! I’m also celebrating my birthday with songs that have an age in the title. I told you we weren’t done with the “16” songs….
#4: Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen - Neil Sedaka
For those who may have been ambling through the music and happened to come across this after a Hank Williams or Clash song: no, I’m not schizophrenic; and yes, I do like all three. In fact, Neil Sedaka was the first non-country music concert I ever went to! (That was 1976 at the Kentucky State Fair, if you’re interested. Even if you aren’t interested. 
) (I also saw Neil in 2015, and he was fabulous.)
This was on my favorite Sedaka song list, and it’s so obvious that it’d show up again. And it’ll always show up, because I love the sweet innocence of songs like this.

A song to put on every "girl's calendar" come their sixteenth birthday! Although, 16 year old's today are not listening to innocent songs by Neil. Sadly a by-gone era except when we share our favorite tunes on My Lot.

I said after seeing him the second time in 2015 (when he was 76 years old, mind you) that he could beat any auto-tuned “singer”around with one arthritic hand tied behind his back.
