Over the weekend, as I shared earlier, I went through some old photos and other belongings of my Dad's. He passed in 2017. I have many boxes to go through in time.
This photo of Dustin is one I have not seen in awhile. He was almost 2 years old here. I went to Sears back in the day, every year and every holiday, to have his photos taken. We all did in those days, and shared with family and friends.
He looks so very happy here, I love his little dimples on his hands. This one takes me back to the good days. A priceless treasure I wanted to share.
Photo is mine of course.

I remember those days of getting dressed up for Olan Mills.
What a sweet baby.
May those memories be a blessing for you.

Priceless.
He's adorable, his dimples, his eyes, his smile, totally adorable.
I used to take our son to Sears for their huge package deal of photos also.
I remember waiting from the time the photos were taken until they were in for pick up to be the longest time it felt.
Today everything is digital, but not near as much fun.

@CarolDM I remember being at Sears with our daughter, Brittany, when she was just 12 days old. There was nobody at the photo center, so I took her in there. The ladies really loved it as they told me that they rarely get to photograph the really little ones like her because most moms keep them at home. I explained that we were out celebrating her discharge from the hospital. They asked what she was in for and I quietly told them congenital heart disease.
When our son and I went in a few weeks later to get the pictures I was asked all about Brittany, why didn't I have her with me, how big had she grown, you know, the usual questions. I fought back the tears as she had just passed the week before, and quietly told them that i had mentioned the last time that I was in that she had a congenital heart disease and that she passed.
The photographer quickly left me and was gone for a while. When she returned she told me that she called their head office and requested the negatives-remember those? She explained to me that her mother had lost a baby during infancy and the picture that she had of him meant the world to her. She wanted me to have the negatives in case anything ever happened to the originals. She asked me to give it to someone close so that if we had a house fire, I would have a back up plan. That is what happened to her mother.
We did things differently back then, but we were not afraid to offer help in a unique way if it was merited. I will never ever forget that act of kindness shown to me.
