What the heck am I doing up this early? Spending money, that’s what! Because of the weather forecast, predicting severe weather anywhere and everywhere I’d run to escape Derby, I guess I’ll stay home and buy a new TV to see those live webcams in Key West in clearer definition! 
While they’re preparing for the Run for the Roses I’ll give you another song with “rose” in the title….with apologies to JJ.

Sorry, but Neil just can’t sing this the way Linda can. (And, JJ, I’ll betcha by golly wow that you’re probably thinking Neil can’t wear a blouse like that. 
)
This isn’t too peculiar at all. If you didn’t know, Linda sang backup on two of Neil Young’s biggest hits, “Heart of Gold” and “Old Man.” (She was on other albums of his, too.)
It was all part of what the music press called the “L.A. Mellow Mafia” back in the 70s. And DANG did they give us some great music!!!!

It’s one of my favorite Ronstadt songs. Not crazy about Neil’s rendition, but to be fair he recorded it after Linda’s version.

@RebeccasFarm — well, he had recorded it first, but the album didn’t get released. His version ended up on Decade, the three-volume retrospective.

Nah, I have this MONSTER (43”, it’s big to me) TV to watch baseball games and live feeds from Key West or St. Augustine all weekend. Can’t believe how quickly everything got here!

@DaddyEvil — it’s a HUGE severe weather coverage from Texas (tornado warning) on my new TV. It’s hooked up to a DVD player and Apple TV. On the Apple TV I have Facebook Live, which means I can watch TV stations’ live broadcasting of severe weather when they share it on their Facebook pages. It also has You Tube and MLB, so that’s all I need.

I find it interesting how many of the “big hits” here don’t make a blip on the music scene in other parts of the world. Of course, that works both ways: I remember seeing the BBC charts in Billboard and didn’t know 2/3 of the songs listed!

@FourWalls One of the first things I learnt on myLot was that half our Aussie big names had never been heard of elsewhere - apart from Steve Irwin of course - and pool old Steve was considered a bit of a joke downunder.
