How I tried to electrocute myself today but failed.

I am not suicidal by nature, but today I took the bottom off of a McIntosh tuner/preamp and gave it a De-Oxit bath while listening to it. I am trying to get a dead left (or is it right?) channel working.
The thing is worth $1500 if I can get it working right.
I had it on its side, and a minor earthquake, or perhaps a minor tug on cord, led the thing to fall into my lap.
I expected a jolt, but nothing happened.
So I kept working on it.
I couldn't get the other channel working, so I slipped into a dream. Or maybe I fell into a nap on my bed.
Right now I'm listening to classical music on the thing. It sounds great, but one channel is still way lower in volume than the other.
I may suck it up and send the tuner/preamp to someone who knows what they're doing.
In the end, I failed to electrocute myself.

@TheHorse Oh! You are not planning to sell it but have it as part of your main stereo. I thought that you are planning to sell it and make some money.

@arunima25 I could "flip" it, even as it is. But it belonged to my best buddy's dad who recently passed away from Covid and being 85. It has sentimental value. Plus it sounds great.

The fact that you’re still living proves what a failure you are at electrocuting yourself.

@TheHorse — wait until there’s a thunderstorm to try that.

One of these days, if you keep trying, I'm sure you can succeed. It might not be your finest hour, though.
Better luck next time.

@TheHorse Yeah, I don't think you've tormented vanny enough yet. The world thanks you.
I'm glad your back isn't hurting too much right now. Maybe almost getting electrocuted helped with the pain?

@DaddyEvil When I used visit my horse, I would occasionally come in contact with the electric wire that surrounded her pasture. It was something of a wake up call. Perhaps I will become a advocate for electro-shock therapy.

So you didn’t get your hair to stand up like that of one of the bandits in Home Alone movies?

@TheHorse if a pro gets to fix it, how much would it cost you?

I'm so glad you didn't electrocute yourself. I did have lightning strike me one time, but thank God it had simmered down before it entered my body through my hand. It felt like warm water flowing down to my toes and back up again.

Tinkering…sometimes it’s successful…other times, not so much.
Try not to electrocute yourself, or anyone else.

Glad you are not a pile of glowing flesh. Perhaps a few more naps will bring the answer to you in a dream.

I am glad you were all right, I always was very nervous when my husband worked on electricity in Latvia but he knew how to fix anything electric and always was careful,
