Rain again overnight. Sunshine today. More rain later. The rain is good for the garden.
The Japanese honeysuckle on my fence is in full bloom. It grows wild here and has taken off very nicely over the years. I can smell the sweet fragrance all over the yard.
Butterflies will arrive soon. Hummingbirds are here and enjoying the sweet nectar. All of the little things to enjoy in my little world.
Photo is mine.

How cool! It looks like we had a little rain overnight, but nothing hard or loud. That’s how I like my rain.
Have a great day!

@CarolDM — sunny and warm right now, but the rain is on the way. No golf tonight.

@CarolDM many plants do that too. Some are slower than others though.

Carolina Jasmine and regular Jasmine are the big fence-crawlers here where I live. I've heard people say they have Japanese honeysuckle growing in their yards, but I don't know if I've ever seen it. How's the fragrance compared to Jasmine?

@CarolDM That's what I was thinking too. I know Jasmine blooms at night, which is when the aroma is most heavy and intoxicating (especially in the morning). Does the honeysuckle have a strong fragrance as well?

Beautiful photo of a beautiful bloom.
I have to rethink attracting hummers, Roscoe has caught juvenile mourning doves before I could stop him so if he's killing them I won't try to attract other birds he might want to kill as well. Too bad I can't keep him indoors all the time.

We have some honeysuckle I dug up out in the pasture on my sister's farm in Arkansas several years ago. The flowers on it are pure white. They smell nice and the vines grow into a ball if left to themselves although they will climb trees if trained to do so.

Some kind of honeysuckle has volunteered in one of my front beds. I can hardly wait to see what it is like. Lots of websites say it is invasive, but I do not care.
