Just One! Are You Kidding?

Most people here know that I am a Disney fanatic, and spend a great deal of time at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. So it should come as no surprise that I spent the weekend there with my family to celebrate one more year of circling the sun! The funny thing is, I just pulled up the photos on my smartphone today and realized that I only took one photo the entire 3 days I was there! Are you kidding? How in the world did I manage to go 3 whole days without taking a thousand pictures? But seriously, I only took one photo the entire time! Thankfully, everyone else that was with me was taking photos the entire time (at least I hope they were). I guess I'll find out soon when I ask them all to share. Have you ever had so much fun that you forgot to take photos to remember the occasion by?

Why thank you pretty lady! I always hoped I would be one of those guys that got better looking as he aged. You know, like Richard Gere! Unfortunately, Richard Gere I am not! lol

You were having too much fun to take photos I suppose. Look at Pooh bear. I hope Eeyore was somewhere around as well. Happy Birthday again to you Jeff.

@CarolDM Every now and then I will spot him at the parks. But he is almost always at Magic Kingdom, along with the other Pooh characters. I was very surprised to see Pooh at Epcot, it’s not a park he’s usually at. I also saw Donald and Daisy as well at Holly Studios.

I wish the photo wasn't elongated. I tried editing a few times and re-sizing it, and everything else turned up sideways on here! It's such a great photo of Pooh. He was out chasing butterflies in one of the gardens at Epcot. And playing peek-a-boo with some of the guests. Unfortunately, I never caught a glimpse of Eeyore anywhere. I did see Mickey and Minnie a few times, and also Chip N Dale. Interestingly, Chip N Dale were a huge hit with the crowds, probably because of their new movie that just came out.

@moffittjc Eeyore seems to have disappeared off the radar. But he will always be my favorite.

Not since the advent of the smart phone. Back in the days of the Pentax K1000, yes, I’d decide if I wanted to lug that thing around or just enjoy where I was. Happy birthday!

Thank you for the birthday wish! I've kinda been celebrating all month! I usually take a gazillion pictures wherever I go. I still can't believe I took one picture the entire three days. I remember the days of having to lug around 35 mm cameras and all the different zoom lenses! lol

I have even forgotten to take my camera with me but that was so long ago. I think I pretty much have all the DIsney cartoon movies on video and often like to watch them just to liven my mood.

Do you by any chance have a subscription to Disney+? If so, you've got to see the new Chip N Dale's Rescue Ranger movie. It is amazing!

Yes I’ve done that or my phone not have enough battery or not enough space: which is why as soon as I post them on Facebook in an album I deleted them from my phone.

@ShyBear88 I just looked on my phone, and I have 7,683 photos, and only 17% of my phone's total capacity is being used right now. I've got a long way to go before I have to start worrying about deleting photos!

I used to have that problem on my old phone, but on my current phone I could probably take 10,000 more pictures and still not take up all the memory and storage space!

It is such a cute picture, I really wished it didn't show up elongated on myLot. I've tried editing a bunch of different ways, but haven't been able to get it to look normal on here. Oh well, it's still a good picture.

@moffittjc Exactly, I have many. The worst is that we bought the very first digital camera from Canon. The camera saved the photos on very small floppy discs, that where read from another Canon device. I have almost 1,000 of those floppy discs, the Canon reader does not work anymore, they discontinued the product short after and all those photos are lost.

Lacking photos from your theme park visits is more detrimental to you than me, due to the distance you’d have to travel to visit again!

@paigea It's funny, because back in the days when we had to load actual film in our cameras, and then take them to get developed, I took pictures like there was no tomorrow. And now that photo taking is as easy as aiming our phones at something, I find that I hardly take any pictures. Maybe I just forget somehow because of how easy and convenient it is.

@moffittjc l never took many pictures. It was a big deal getting them developed and then finding out they weren't great pictures. Now I haven't really changed my habit.

@lovebuglena Well said! There’s no need to waste your time filming a concert. Just enjoy the show, and if you want to relive those concert memories later, just search YouTube and watch the videos of all the other idiots who recorded the concert! Lol

@moffittjc It's like when people go to a concert and a lot of the time they have their phones out recording. I just don't get that. Put the phone away and enjoy the damn show!

@porwest It sure seems like it. I don’t know how it can be as crowded as it is, no one can afford to go there anymore. But where are all these people coming from that they can afford to drop a million on Disney?

Yes I can relate to this too. The sights, sounds and surroundings are simply just too overwhelmingly good and everything just happens in a flash. Asking to stop and pose is simply inconvenient and cumbersome. Or asking someone to hold my mobile phone to take another shot is just not me - in case the phone is dropped accidentally. So yeah just wanted to enjoy the moments and forget about the pictures.

It hasn't happened to me too often but I have a friend who never takes photos. She says she likes to experience whatever it is without the distraction of taking photos. To each their own but there are many occasions that never come to mind unless I see a photo,

I sometimes feel the same way as your friend. I think there has to be a balance of enjoying the moment and capturing the moment in photos. But I don’t want to be that person who misses out on the beauty and experience of everything happening around me because my face is buried in my camera or phone.

I take a thousand pictures when we travel. I only took one on our trip to Erie. I didn't know that we weren't going to the room after breakfast; so I didn't have my camera. Hubs drove around to two lighthouses; and then we saw a whole bunch of turkeys right next to the car. No camera! Sigh, I wished you a Happy Birthday on Facebook; but here's another one: Happy Birthday!
