I have a few desert plants blooming here

Chihuahua desert blooms growing in my yard YaY

And I created a collage of 3 of them. In the round border is the Desert Bird of Paradise, have you ever seen this bloom? In the square border are the tiny daises we get, they're just a little smaller than a penny. And in the bottom border is a branch of the Palo Verde I have growing in the back. My tree isn't as dense as some I have seen but the blooms are pretty none the less. I found an old song that I wonder if anyone here has ever heard before, let me know, ok?

The flowers are pretty but I’d never seen them. My grandsons that live in Arizona probably see them every day.

It's possible they do but the Sonoran desert is a little different from the Chihuahua desert.

Yes, southern Arizona has a lot of desert and it is the Sonoran desert that has the largest amount of cacti whereas here we have a lot of yuccas, mesquite and small bushes that can survive our harsh environment.

They're all lovely. I used to have a plant called a bird of paradise but it wasn't as showy as the one you've shown there. We have those tiny yellow daisies here in the fields. And I've never seen anything like the last one there.

The Palo Verde tree is protected in the New Mexico region of our Chihuahua desert, it's been endangered thanks to greedy developers.

Not really, whenever I see seed pods on the various plants in commercial landscapes I steal them if they're dry enough and I just throw the seeds into the yard. I got lucky that I got one tree out of the many seeds I've confiscated. I did the same with the Desert Bird of Paradise but the daisies got here via the wind.

Yes, I remember dressing like that too, we didn't really have a choice back then as girls weren't supposed to wear pants.

Yes, I drove through there a few times when I was in my 20s and I recall all those beautiful cacti they had. I did not have a camera back then or I would have taken photos of them.

Some are really pretty especially the cacti in the desert of Arizona, the Sonoran desert, which has a huge variety of cacti but the Chihuahua desert has a lot of yucca, mesquite and small bushes.

I think so too. We don't get a huge variety like folks in forest area but what we do get is usually pretty.

The desert bird of paradise is my favorite of your collage, although, they are all very pretty. So nice to see these as they are not something that I would ever see in our climate.

I have Birds of Paradise in my Philippines garden. The photo collage of your flowers is beautiful. I don't think I have seen that plant Palo Verde before.

I am surprised that the desert bird of paradise would grow in a tropical setting. It seems the Palo Verde originated in New Mexico. I am happy it grows here.
