Addiction to anything is bad. I was reading the news and read that a sixteen-year-old boy killed his mother. He shot his mother with a licensed gun as his father is an army personnel. As per the reports, he shot her because she asked him not to play PUBG as he used to play it most of the time. He hid the dead body in one of the rooms and threatened his 9 years old sister not to disclose it to anyone. He used a room freshener to stop the smell of the decomposed body. But after 8 days neighbors complained and he was caught. How sad this incidence is? What is happening to the youths these days? Addiction to mobile phones is dangerous. I am worrying as my kids also are addicted to such games. I should talk to them calmly.

Oh my goodness, this is horrible. Some young people cannot make the difference from real world and virtual world.

Yes, some young people don't judge what is wrong and what is right. We should make anything an addiction.

@LadyDuck yes they should do. Mostly the kids go in the wrong direction when their parents don't look at them.

@sjvg1976 I blame the parents, they should monitor their young children.

It's incredible that a disagreement over a game could lead to her son murdering her mother. That is awful and sad that even addiction to cell phones can lead to young people committing crimes like this. I'm curious about her sister's distress in keeping this to herself, as well as the stench of the decomposing body. How did this child plan this heinous crime against her mother?

@sjvg1976 I believe he did not realize that she would smell later. I just hope he learned a lesson there and felt bad about what he did.

@rsa101 yes he might have thought he would escape and didn't think that smell will reveal the secret.

That's frustrating as how can he threaten his sister to keep quiet. The sixteen-year-old kid is not a kid. How could he think that he won't be caught after murdering his mother.

I understand, addiction to anything is bad at all. Gosh, what's wrong to the mobile and online games? I play mobile legends and I always tell my nephew to stop using mobile. I confiscate his mobile everytime.

That's a good thing you do. I should also refrain my kids from using their mobile phones.

Some people don't know the aftermath of what they do. Parents are like everything to us but this boy did not understand the same.

@cacay1 yes he deserves but here in India he cannot be hanged because of his age as per the law, he is still considered a minor.

It is a crazy world we live in, and I am quite sure there is more to this story than we know. Much more was going on in that kid's life than video games. This was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

@porwest Still I would say parents should always monitor the behavior of their kids and should scold them if they see anything abrupt.

A very sad incident. The boy got so addicted that he could not control himself. It's a kind of sickness. Other than punishment, counselling is necessary.
