When there are no words.

Today I read a post by the Administration about deleting responses such as "I agree" and the like. But in this same day I read another post to which the only way I can answer is by sending a big hug. For some things there are no words but a hug helps. I was very sorry for @popciclecild loss but I knew by my experience that there are no words in the world to say. A hug does help, though. I felt it years ago when my friends came to give me their condolences for my grandson´s death, They were writers yet they did not say one word. They hugged me. And I felt comforted because I knew I was not alone. Our loved ones are not in pain any longer. The pain is for us who stay. This post is for my friend @popciclecold and her Jim. It is a big hug.

Thanks for that suggestion. Sometimes, after a few interactions back and forth, you just want to say 'thanks' and leave it at that. I guess we'll get used to just ticking 'like'

@JudyEv I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes it's necessary to say "thank you" or "you're welcome" to be polite. I guess we will have to stop that.

I read and commented on that post. Its not really a post where many words can be expressed, but the few that are are from the heart and very meaningful and necessary when someone is grieving.

I have been in those situations. Once a friend told me that she had not found words. I replaied: hug me! We need the touch of our loved ones then.

@marguicha I never thought that I would say this, but sometimes an emoji can have a peaceful and lasting effect. I remember a friend commented with an emoji when I had a loss and I still remember it well.

@Juliaacv I agree. I sent her an emoji hug and a couple of words. I did not expect an answer but she did. I had reached her.

There are some times when I want to say something but there isn't much to say so I just say "I agree" or "Thank you". And, sometimes less is more. Why do we have 'Mylot codes' if not to use them? I just don't know.

@marguicha..........I agree with you. I was brought up to be polite and I hate for anyone to think I am not.

@celticeagle Me too. I think that politeness is outdated lately.

There are some words of politeness offline and you should be able to use them here too. I don´t mind if they don´t pay me. But I do mind if it is deleted.

There are posts where we are not able to write anything and a hug may be a relief for someone. I dont think there is something which the admin should object to in such a case.

We can always add some more words, even if there is not so much to say in some cases. As Admin suggested we have the PM for a short personal message.

Our loved ones leave us to stay in this world and keep mourning for them and missing them. We have to move forward with a heavy heart.

I have read the post of popcicle and her loss. It is sad but sometimes we are speechless if something like this happens with our friends and relatives. A hug alway helps.

I don´t always write long answers but sometimes that words "I agree" mean a lot. And other times I say that I wholly agree. And that is more.

The longer your response, this means you have spent time to comprehend the post. Rather than just short words and responses.

It's not really a great response for just saying "I agree", you just need more than words to express that you've agreed in order that the one you've responded feels the way they've understand.

I can explain most of the times why I agree or disagree about something. Maybe normally we should do that.

What you have said in your post is true, sometimes words are not enough, or there just are not enough words.

Yes. You have a point. It also helps me to feel the love from my friends when they hug me
