Good Morning everyone! I hope you all are having a marvelous day. We are a very frugal, penny pinching family. I find ways to make do and over come obstacles that many would not even consider. One thing that I have lived without for 3 years now is a stove top. When it went out, I hated to spend the money on getting one because we are looking to do a remodel on the kitchen. I thought it would be within the next year, so I said we'll just do without and do it all at once. Well that time has been extended,I know it will not be for at least 2 years so, I decided to turn loose of some money and make my kitchen experience more pleasurable and a little quicker. We were using an electric skillet, and the instapot to cook everything. Sometimes something as simple as boiling noodles took a really long time, it takes awhile for the water to heat up. the kids were SO funny, they wanked into the kitchen after we installed and were oohhhing and ahhhing, is that a cook top mom? Wow! just like Christmas for them since they all cook. I still have no oven but I can go a bit longer without one. although I do have to admit, it makes holidays quite the challenge. What do you think? Am I crazy?

I don't think you're crazy if you aren't going to be able to do the kitchen remodel for awhile. I"m sure you'll get plenty of use of the new stovetop between now and then especially if the kids cook too. Enjoy cooking

Wow! That's a tough item to do without but you made it work so hats off to you! For me, the microwave would be harder for me to go without. Surprisingly it's an item I don't go one day without using.

Well it is all in what you get used to. My sister is a bit like you. They have the money, but won't do certain things like getting the AC in their van fixed for instance. I am not ever sure they fixed it in their house, but they are in a Northern state don't need it quite as much as down here for instance.

I like to stretch my pennies too. But a cook top would be an essential for me. Glad you have one now.

It is wonderful to see you on myLot today! I've missed you! "Are you crazy"? Hmm... be truthful or be kind... Wow, what a question to ask us! I'll just plead the 5th! I don't think I could handle not having a stove top and oven. Most of my cooking is in the oven, but I do cook a lot on the stove top.

we can adjust and overcome pretty easily, but I am so glad to have one again. the oven is a bit of a pain, but I do have a toaster oven that I have stretched beyond it's intended abilities. It gets quite the workout.

You do what you need to do. I've never used an instapot and haven't used a crockpot for donkey's years. I do love the big toaster oven that we bought used. I've baked pies in it.

Not crazy at all. As long as you are all happy, that is what matters.
