I am counting down the months to my happiest season of the year - Christmas. When the hurricane seasons ends on November 30, then l can truly relax and enjoy every moment. I look forward to the cool breeze, Christmas music - especially carols, Christmas movies, decorations , gifts, sharing with family and friends, special church services - and of course those special Christmas dishes. Which season is your favorite and what in particular do you like about it? Pixabay image.

My favorite season used to be Christmas... While Pretty was small and up through High School, I decorated the house for every holiday... And then I started working at Walmart. They start every holiday soooo early that I burned out on the holidays and didn't want to see decorations at home, let alone buy gifts for anyone. (I still bought Pretty gifts but refused any gifts she wanted to buy me. I just wasn't interested.) We still have all the electronic Christmas decorations I bought over the years to decorate the house but they've been put away in plastic totes in the garage since I started working at Walmart.... It's been almost two years since I stopped working at Walmart and maybe, one of these days I'll feel like getting the decorations out and putting them up for the holidays.

I understand what happened there. Working at Walmart you got an overdose of Christmas, no wonder you felt burnt out. I must admit Christmas was more exciting to me years ago when it was not so very commercialised and there was no social media distractions.

@Kandae11 Yeah, Pretty and I had fun decorating the house and playing with the electronic items. (She checked all the items when we moved four years ago and they still worked.)

@DaddyEvil Every year I got a new electronic item the next year it wouldn't work and it just became a decoration on the table just sitting there and not moving anymore.

Even if the atmosphere is no more as it used to be, I still love the Christmas season, it is also my wedding anniversary season, as we got married two days after Christmas.

"Cool breeze"- you don't live where it is really cold? Summer spoils me. I love not needing to bundle up.

@Kandae11 Oh my. That sounds grand to me. I am more than delighted to be done with needing to drive in snow and ice.

I live in the Caribbean on an island which gets some of North America's winter in the form of cooler weather in December and January. I remember one January there was a cold spell which lasted three days and three nights. I was forced to sleep in a heavy dressing gown and socks!.

@sallypup. My sister lives in Canada and l can tell she gets very down during those long cold winters. On the bright side , when it gets too cold or boring she travels with her hubby to visit me. I myself experienced two winters in New York.

Hopefully this year we won't experience a major storm, we have had minor ones but the last major one was in 2012.

I do love Christmas among all,it is the best time of the year.Having your family relatives coming over for dinner, catching up with them, exchanging present is also one of the best part.Setting up the tree with all the decorations and ornament and all over the home.It is truly a magically wonderful time every year for me but I don't know how it will be this year after covid not knowing if there'll be a lockdown again.I hope things will go back like they were before.Covid time was a sad Christmas time for me.I'm hoping we will be able to celebrate like before. Here's to hoping.

@sica98 Everything has gone up in price - including baking flour. People in the Caribbean do a lot of baking at Christmas. The Christmas fruit cake is usually very special.

@Kandae11 I hope so,only time will tell I guess.Since egg price has risen in my country I don't know if I'll be able to bake all my favorite desserts.I'm hoping that my relatives will come over but they all are afraid to travel even now.

I'm so excited for you about Christmas time. Your current summer heat will soon end and comes a cool, breezy Fall change. Looks like our unique climates in our respective countries are just as steady and timely for every season. Here at Down Under (Australia), we are towards the end of our cold to freezing winter months. Looking forward to Spring very soon.
