Gosh. I wish I had something delicious to share here. Heck, I wish I had a wonderful Fourth of July casserole I could share with @NJChicaa. But I am still on the road, traveling for work. So, tonight I am in Kansas City, Missouri. I have a couple of choices tonight. Wendy's. There's a Taco Bell down the street. But I have opted for an Impossible Whopper from Burger King. I will probably get some onion rings as well. Hey, I like to trick my body into thinking I am eating veggies, plus I own stock in QSR, which is the parent company of Burger King, so not only do I get something fairly tasty to eat... I make money too. Best of both worlds? Maybe. What are you eating tonight?

The impossible burger is for those that don't eat meat? Or am I wrong? Yesterday, we stopped by hubby's mom's house and we ate Russian dumplings as that's the only thing she had. I had mine with the water they were cooking in, some sour cream and butter, and dried basil. Delicious.

@porwest for me, Russian dumplings with sour cream and the liquid they were cooking in and a pickle on the side is comfort food.

Mostly true. Yes. Or people that are trying to eat less meat. Your dinner sounds like it was pretty good too. I have never had this dish.

I was so tired when I got home, I ate some comfort food: a little can of beef ravioli with some french bread. How was the impossible burger?

@1creekgirl Soy, from my understanding—with some other things like vegetable fats and what not.

The Impossible Whopper is something I have had several times. It's actually not bad at all, and I don't think you can tell its not actually meat.

I had a late lunch so my dinner consisted of me just snacking on junk food throughout the evening. I had Tostino’s pizza rolls, popcorn and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Very healthy and nutritious.

Late lunches do that to me as well. Just kind of ruins dinner, but I guess it is what it is.

@porwest Yeah, it’s crazy how altering your meal timing a little bit t can mess up your whole food timing.

I actually do like Burger King a lot. But the nice thing about burger joints is that they all have their 'niche,' and so all of them are actually quite good. It just depends on whether or not one feels like a fresh Wendy's burger, a traditional McDonald's burger, a Burger King flame broiled one, or a Hardees charbroiled one. They are all good in my opinion. Just depends on what mood I am in which one I want to eat at any given time.

@Rashnag So long as it is not an every day thing I am fine with it. Besides, I often consider these places a little bit of a treat.

@porwest Glad to know that you like to eat from all these joints. We have burger King, McDonald's, KFC here. I don't eat burgers and all much often now. Just occassionally. Have a good day. Take care

Being the invalids that we are, last night we finished up a doctored up frozen pizza. We are drinking lots of juices and gingerale. I would like a real whopper please if you drive on by my way.

Ah. The days of doctored up frozen pizzas. You know, those actually turn out pretty good. And still cheaper than ordering one out. I will see what I can do about the Whopper. lol

I find it hilarious that you eat so much fast food on the road when you claim you are sodium-restricted.

What other choice do I have? There is nothing not loaded with sodium at any restaurant. Even a salad has just as much, if not more salt than a burger.

Oh, so you are on the road again. I love traveling and staying in hotels - but l am always happy to be back home. I had a calaloo loaf dinner.

The biggest issue I have with the hotels is that while I have some free time and freedom I may not otherwise have, I also do not have any of my creature comforts. And certainly no guitar or my recording equipment...I'd much rather be home having my free time there.

Those Impossible (veggie) Burgers are not as healthy as you might think. I'd go with a hamburger myself but with Biden's inflation I cannot afford them right now. Looks like a "tube steak" cookout this Labor Day

I don't eat them for health benefits, but rather to help grind stuff up better after a couple of days of eating red meat on trips. lol
