Summer is not my favorite season. I like the long days, but I dislike the heat, the humidity and cooking in the heat. This first day of September is nice and cool. I can start planning more interesting meals. To celebrate the start of the new month, I prepared a special breakfast this morning, crêpes with berries, those were delicious. About September: for the ancient Romans it was the 7th month of the year. It was associated to the god Vulcan, (the god of fire), because it was the hottest month of the year. September always begins on the same day of the week as December. Do you have anything special planned for this month? The picture is our breakfast of this morning.

Your breakfast looks delicious! I am quite happy it is now September. The summers just seem to last forever. I should celebrate by using the oven tonight.

Yum,

your breakfast looks delicious. So that is how Mr Spock got his start, I always wondered where the Star Trek writers came up with the many different species names they used. Mr Spock did show a fiery side when he lost control of his emotions

Yes they were. I wonder where they got the name klingon, all I could think of was a type of peach but with their brutish temperament I doubt it was peaches they were thinking of.

No special plan for this month. I don't like September because we don't have offs/holidays this month as no festivals fall. Whereas I like October in which we celebrate "Diwali" the biggest festival celebrated in India. Is it the hottest month of the year? Here the winter starts from this month. I like the breakfast, the picture itself says it's delicious.

I remember that some Indian users talked about Diwali, an important celebration. It WAS the hottest month of the year in ancient Rome, as it was the 7th month, that means July in our days. I love crepes and berries, it's a good breakfast.

Your breakfast is as beautiful as a picture in a magazine! Yummy, for certain:) I've never made crepes, but you've opened up a new venture, for me to try

Thank you Kharla, you are too kind, I remembered to take a photo before eating, that does not often happens. Crepes are not very difficult to make, the dough is similar to pancakes, you must make them thin. I also love fall.

Your breakfast looks delicious!! I have to agree that with the cooler days I also feel more like cooking. That's interesting to know that September is the same day of the week as December. Nothing special planned for this month but with the holidays coming faster than I'd like I"m happy to have a month with no gift giving occasions

Lovely breakfast! I never realized September always begins on the same day of the week as December. We have plans for our Labor Day long weekend and plenty of stuff to take care of around the yard this September. I love every season except winter

Enjoy your long Labor Day weekend Dianne. I am not a big fan of summer, too hot and I hate the mosquitoes. Fall and spring are my favorite. I also do not like winter except December, because of the holidays and our anniversary.

@DianneN My parents were married in May, the parents of my mother in July. I remember my grandfather complaining all the time because of the bad choice, July was too hot. He was a funny man.

My parents were married in September. We chose August and had a warm, beautiful day. I’m not a fan of July, but this summer, every month was nasty.

I do adapt to the weather.

I like bathing with cold water that's why I can't wait for winter. Cold water boosts my mood and refresh me. It has several health benefits as well.
