I think it's called folk-art

In the photo is another of the quirky items at our house-sit. It’s pretty obvious this is a snail, made from scrap pieces of metal. Sometimes I don’t like such items but this I really like. It’s 8.30am here and Qwacka Duck has already demanded his breakfast. I’m sure I wasn’t meant to feed him twice a day but I gave his a good breakfast and now he’s waddled off the dam. Sometimes he disappears for a few days but at least I know he’s happy to be fed if he wants to be. It’s looks like being fine but every now and then a mist comes over the valley and we get a light shower of rain. If the showers persist, I might get my Liane Moriarty book finished today.

I'm glad you told us what it was supposed to be. I didn't see a snail in your photo. (Don't tell the owners but it looked like a pile of junk to me. )

That is a really interesting piece. I think mom would have loved it, she was always making weird things with items she would find ..... then she got old and I couldn't find most of it.

This is a nice piece of art. I also do not like those items often. Ducks can be voracious, if you continue to give them seeds, they continue to eat.

That is a very creative piece, I could tell it was a snail by one look, My kittens are growing so fast they seem to be hungry all the time and don;t understand when I tell them they cannot eat all the time, lol

Qwacka had a double issue at breakfast and again at dinner. I'll have to check with the daughter if it's okay.

@DaddyEvil You could well be right - or perhaps we'll just agree to disagree. (Actually, don't tell anyone but I think you're probably right. But what else could you do with such bits? These people never throw anything out! lol

I love art like the one you show. I wrote a short story about a man who took garden items- shovels and rakes etc.- and made creatures with them.

It was obvious to me but that's okay. The head is to the left with its horns then the round bit is the shell and there is a tail out to the right.

That surely is some art: folk or not! Qwacka Duck seems to enjoy your company, or may be the kind of food that you provide! What kind of a book is the Liane Moriarty one? Is it a fiction?

I think it is the food that Qwacka likes. The Liane Moriarty one is fiction and about triplets. I guess you'd call it chick lit but it does deal with some sensitive issues.

Qwacka has had his own post but here is another photo of him. He's very photogenic. Actually, I've just realised this isn't Qwacka but one of a pair of ducks that also visit. I'll need to take some of Qwacka next time he turns up.
