Good morning, friends. I am missing my home.

I am starting to want to go back and go to my own house, pet my Luna and have a coffee with Leticia. I feel that if I don´t get very good company to come here, this will be my last vacation in Aruba. As for a few more dollars I can trade it to some place else, I think that I´ll do that. There are several things that don´t interest me so much anymore because my legs aren´t behaving well. I´ll have to think about it and decide later whether I sell it, give it to one of my grandchildren or just let it go. One of my friends, the oldest one, had an awesome apartment with the Marriot chain. His wife, Marta, has had mayor memory problems these last 3 years so he tried to sell it and as he could not do it, he just called Marriot and gave it up. In my situation, my timeshare has been more that paid by having it over 25 years. I have been staying in a very good place (places) every time I have gone out for a holiday. Probably many times I wouldn´t have been able to pay for these luxuries. But it all ends. I will have to think about this carefully. Maybe I can go with an exchange to Andalucía (Spain) if Coral @thesojourner comes with me in 2 years or so.

That is a big and tough decision to make. That’s incredible you’ve been going there for 25 years. I think somewhere new would be nice if you can sell this.

@shaggin I belong to an exchange club and they exchange apartments in different parts of the world for some extra dollars.

I have exchanged this place for others several times. It can be done and I have done it. The last time I exchanged it was for a week in Mexico City just before the covid. I went with my 2 daughters to a sort of pilgrimage to a city that both my husband and I loved.

What a decision to have to make. So you might be roomies with Sojourner in a couple of years? How nice!

I know it is a big decision to take and you cannot decide before talking with your two daughters. For the moment enjoy your last days in Aruba.

I don´t really have to talk to them as neither of them is interested in it. If any of them were interested, I´d just hand it over.

@LadyDuck I will see how can I sell it. If it is not worth much (I guess maintenance is what is more expensive) I could see if some of the grandchildren want it. But I would not hand it to anyone of them.

@marguicha I did not know they were not interested. As they are not, I think that you should sell it, as you have annual fees to pay. You place in a saving account what you get from the property and what you save in annual fee and you can pay for a good hotel if you decide to go to Andalusia.

I can understand how you are thinking about whether to sell or stay. It's a big decision especially if you don't have good company to enjoy while there. It would be nice if you and Coral could enjoy another vacation together

We too have a membership with Marriott..we have used it only a couple of times as the pandemic hit. Hopefully we will be able to access the luxuries soon. It would be good to get an exchange. The same place again and again might get monotonous. I hope that you and Coral can make a memorable trip to Spain soon.

I have exchanged my resort to several places over the years. We even went with my husband (his last holiday) to Disneyworld with Tania, her 2 kids then and her BF. I think that Diego was "made" there.

You've had that timeshare a very long time. Everything comes to an end eventually - both the good and the bad. But sometimes the 'bad' takes longer.

I have been happy with my timeshare most of the time. It seems that this year I am not happy with my body I will have to do to other places for a holiday.

Some old folks cannot move out of their hse of many years or decades because once they move out, they cannot last long. Hence i think that it is best you keeep your house.
