Heat Wave Welcomes Fall in September

Fall officially arrives here on Thursday, September 22nd. In the meantime we are having a heat wave. Today's feels like has been 102 degrees F and up. I hope nobody is leaving their children or pets in their vehicles.
The forecast originally called for a high of 98 today, which would tie the record for that date originally set in 1893.
You can see our forecast above. We will reach 98 degrees on Wednesday and then Thursday morning we drop into the 50's.
I hope the cooler weather stays this time. I am ready to get off this weather roller coaster and enjoy some cool days. Enough of this heat I say. What do you say? How is your weather?

We are supposed to get to 90 tomorrow and then drop to 40s for the lows.

It really surprises me that you are getting this heat. I mean, we get it all too often, but out there? Right now we are in the low 80s (for now), I thought we were usually the hottest. But then again you will drop to 50s which I know we won't see for a long time . . . by Friday we should be up in the 90s again. Weather is WEIRD

I hope fall is actually going to happen this year. Last year we skipped fall entirely and went from summer into winter. I missed seeing the leaves change color.
Our high today was 96F and Pretty and I were driving back from Springfield in it. Thankfully, the A/C in the car works well.

We are similar to you, just a few degrees cooler. Was planning to mow at the church today but decided to wait until Friday as it will be 20-25 degrees cooler which will make it more enjoyable.
Suppose to be in the low to mid-40s for lows on Friday evening. I am so ready for it!!

It is true that you would. Animals and children need us to speak up for them. If they are left in car then a window should be open so they can get air. It is very sad that people do not think and leave their children in hot cars or animals in hot cars without any air and then they regret it afterwards. They need to think of their pets or their children not to let them die in a car without air.

WOW kind of late for a heat wave. I remember a funny incident back in Latvia. September always started cooling off quickly and we had to put away the small pool we set up. Suddenly on the day we have decided to clean up things the temp shot up and we were back in summer. So we cooled off in the pool and watched the autumn leaves falling from out oak tree I called Henry. Wish someone has taken a video of that it would have looked really weird, Two people in a pool and autumn leaves coming down
