How Often Do You Eat Out Or Buy Take-Away?

I eat out with family members and friends 1-2 times a month. But I buy take-away once or twice a week because I want to take a break from cooking. I seldom use apps such as Foodpanda or Deliveroo. Many eateries are just a few minutes walk from my place, I just order the food online or by phone and then go there and pick up the food. How often do you eat out or buy take-away?

Since the Covid started I stopped to go out to a restaurant. I never bought take away food.

You are lucky you are just walking distance from food establishments. Mostly my partner cooks. I'm not satisfied with ordering out because we live in rural area.

It's good that your partner cooks. You don't have to eat out.

I don't often buy take-away because I think it is less delicious when I go home. After the pandemic, I am not interested in having a meal outside. As the pandemic rules are crazy and stupid, I don't want to stay in the restaurant if there is a Covid case found. So once in a month eating out will be enough for me. It is somewhat risky to me

Yes, with the crazy pandemic rules, eating at a restaurant may create a lot of inconvenience should a Covid case is found there.

We used to do it quite a bit. More than we should. But for the last couple of weeks we're trying something different. Every Sunday, my kids, my husband and I will plan dinners for the week. And limiting take out to once a month, maybe twice. So far it's going well.

@aninditasen I see. You use an app to order your food and have them delivered to your place?

Very rarely on the eating out part. It's extremely rare. I mean, we will do the occasional fast food thing. But sit down eat-out dinners is rare. We order in for delivery about twice a month. Usually pizza or Chinese.

A lot of food stuff nowadays can be bought outside even the healthy ones. I eat out whenever a friend or relative invites me once a week, Whenever I crave something, I buy take away or just order for delivery once a week.

When we want to eat out, we go occasionally. We do not like fast food, so it isn't very often. We try to just go once in a while, for a treat and change of pace. The only thing we ever have delivered is pizza, and that isn't very often, either. We cook and eat at home for the most part.

I buy Pizza Hut pizza every Wednesday (at first, that was because they subscribed to Oklahoma Gazette and could provide me with a copy along with my pizza-order). I think they unsubscribed (I don't think my closest Pizza Hut is on this list), but I still order on Wednesday because they have Wings Wednesdays---a 'discount' (I think ... they don't tell us 'the price that the special-price is a discount from' ) on Chicken Wings, which are essentially 'Chicken Nuggets for Grown-Ups' I would pay the delivery fee, but my caregiver usually picks it up on her way home from work

Before the pandemic, once a week or so we'd go out to eat or get food from a restaurant and bring it home. Since the pandemic started, not at all.
