Hubs has his appointment at the cardiologist yesterday. He found out that he is still in afib; but the doctor wants to continue to try to bring his heart into normal rhythm with medication rather than shocking his heart. I am glad to hear this. He also said that he does NOT have an enlarged heart or fluid around the heart. However, I was reading the doctor's notes that were sent home with him; and the doctor made a notation that he has COPD...something he has never mentioned. COPD, according to the internet is: "Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease caused by damage to the lungs, which makes it hard to breathe. Often, COPD is a result of many years of smoking." Hubs has never smoked. He may have gotten it because of allergies, asthma, secondhand smoke (his father smoked a pipe), chemical exposure (he worked as a color shader in a company that made sheets for countertops, etc.), etc. Not good news; but if he takes his meds, etc. and is careful about exposure to any type of respiratory disease (colds, COVID-19) maybe he will be OK. Thank you to all of those that were concerned about him. Finally got my printer set up. Had a few glitches; but now my computer is communicating with my printer. Yay! Breakfast - None Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Ham, cheesy potatoes, mixed veggies, roll, pears Dessert/Snack - Donut and decaf coffee Dinner - Corn dog and potato salad What did you eat yesterday? That is definitely better news about your hubby than I was afraid we were going to find out! Not the best news, but better than it could have been! I ate mashed potatoes most of the day yesterday and then ate some potstickers late last night and a pop tart. Have a good day today.

Good news and bad news at the same time I suppose. I wish all the best for both you and him of course and will keep the both of you in my thoughts. For dinner I made braised pork steaks with some broccoli on the side. Decided not to have a starch this time.

I would definitely call the doctor and ask about the COPD. This is what put my Dad in decline. Just sayin'. It can be hard to deal with. Dangers of second hand smoke is real, some do not believe it. But I have seen it. I wish him the best. Good to hear about your printer setup being successful.

Sounds like there was some good news at the appointment. The COPD is scary for sure...my grandmother has that (and the heart thing too) but she smoked for many years. But that shows how bad even second hand smoke can be....

I hope that the COPD note was a mistake and that he doesn't have that issue.

The doctors should discuss the COPD with your husband rather than just letting him see it referenced in the notes like that
