Why don't they make cute cars like this anymore?

I saw these cute looking cars in a car exhibition. They're from a few decades ago and are probably European. I rarely see cute cars like this on the road. Even the small Indian cars don't have that 'cute' look at all. I probably would never want to buy one or drive one, but wouldn't mind seeing a few of these on the road.

I recognize the Isetta in the panel, it was a funny car, there were many in Italy when I was young.

@LadyDuck the fiat 500 was small but very nippy to drive. They were sold here.

@pitstop Yes, we still have small cars here in Europe, the Smart, the FIAT 500, there are other small, but no more shaped like those old ones.

Those are so small they look like toys. They don't even look big enough for a person to fit in them

I should have taken one with me standing next to it for size comparison.

I thought they still made tiny cars like that in Europe.

That's what I thought too - but are they common?

They certainly do look cute. I think I'd look good in one of those.

@pitstop It wouldn't take up much room in the garage that's for sure.

I just don't think there is or would be a market for them, except as perhaps a novelty. They are unsafe and impractical as well.

But at one time, they were popular.

@pitstop Yes. They were. Another time, another place. There ARE a few smaller cars like the Smart Car, the Fiat 500 and the Mini. But still quite a bit different than the ones you mentioned.
