I will do it today

I would have done it yesterday, but we were waiting to see the doctor before we crossed that bridge, and the doctor came in after 6. He was not aware that Bob was there. Not up to date on reading his paperwork (online) Of course he sees lots of other people at that nursing home and throughout the county. So, yes, I am taking Bob home today. He is not really sick enough to be there. I am making his appointments for follow ups and want to take him and be there anyway. There is nothing he is getting there except physical therapy that we do not have at home. The nature of his contagious disease is such that for anyone to go in they need to wear masks, face shields, hair nets, booties and gloves and a gown. Not so much to protect themselves or Bob but to avoid carrying the bacteria to other frail residents. He is confined to his room. Hours go by with no interaction. At home he will be able to go outside and enjoy the wonderful fall weather. His mental state and emotions need to heal as much as his body. He also will get the food he likes and not have to eat from disposable plates and wait if the dietary forgot plastic cutlery, and not be last because dietary has to gown up to bring in the food. Two of our cats left last week, for who knows where. We suspect they are waiting for him to come home.. Bitty is going stir crazy being home alone all day. Bob will love giving her a lap and lots of attention. Angel comes in and out. This is no one's fault. This is C. Diff. He is well enough to be at home.

Thanks for the well wishes. Sometimes it is one step forward, two steps back, but he is on the mend.

@DaddyEvil Yes, we tried a new appetite stimulant. Not good. Made him sleep and even more disoriented.

@GardenGerty You're welcome. I'm glad he's getting better. And yes, I totally understand about one step forward, two steps back... I'm getting very tired of doctors and appointments. It feels like they all have their own "experiments" they want to try to see if they help me... When their particular brand of "help" doesn't work, they pass me to another doctor...

These first few days I have been second guessing myself. He saw his regular doctor today and she is glad I have him home. Bob is getting used to eating regular food again and it is a bigger quantity than what he has been having.

Both of you will be happier when Bob comes home. Maybe the two cats went out trick or treating...

Someone may actually be giving them treats to keep them for themselves. I am happier with Bob home, but he has had restless nights. His body is getting used to home cooking again.

What nursing homes and hospitals have to do to keep everyone safe is not always what is best for the individuals. Bob's regular doctor is glad I have him at home.

They serve a purpose, but it is difficult to remember to treat people as individuals and not as their ailment.

Over all it is an improvement. He is not recovering as quickly as I would like, but it feels good to seem him relax here.

It certainly sounds like Bob will be much, much better off at home. It will be interesting to see if the cats return.

They may do it. I have not had the energy to worry too much, although I miss them. A little boy at school today said, "My cats came home. They were gone for a while. It was like they took a vacation."

I am glad Bob will be going home. There is nothing better than coming back home and have people and pets that are waiting to see us, have warm meal and get enough rest on our own favourite bed. I really hope he feels fine and fit sooner.

You have summed it up perfectly. He gets hot meals made to his taste in his bed. The cats that are at home come talk to him and appreciate him.

I am glad he is home with you. None of us likes to be in the hospital. Hope you can rest, too.
