What Makes You Sleep Well?

Kimchi

I know there are many reasons one can sleep well. I sleep well when I am so tired and exhausted from work. I also sleep well after hours of walking at the lake or in the forest with my friend. I also sleep well after having an Ayurvedic body massage for an hour, etc… Drinking a mug of hot milk or hot chocolate before going to bed helps me have a tight sleep. What I didn’t know before is that Kimchi, a Korean fermented cabbage side dish can help me sleep deep as well. That was what I found out a few days ago. I was so surprised. A few days ago, I was craving for something salty, sour and spicy. It was already 10 in the evening. I searched for something for that kind of food in the fridge and in my pantry. Gladfully, I found a jar of Kimchi which I have bought a few weeks ago in an Asian shop nearby. I chewed 2 tablespoons of Kimchi slowly while watching a video. I was contented. The craving was gone and I went to sleep. I have eaten for 3 consecutive evenings Kimchi before going to bed, before I realised that on those nights, I slept like a log. A very deep sleep. My imported Kimchi is gone. I have to make my own tomorrow after buying the ingredients. What makes you sleep well? Do you know that Kimchi can help you sleep tightly? Thank you for reading. Have a nice day/evening to you.

I sleep best when I take a nice hot shower to relax and cuddle up under the blankets beside my hubby, that is when everything is perfect in my world.

Soothing music and having my last meal of the day at least 5 hours before l am ready to sleep. Quaker oats also helps.

When the weather is cold, snuggling is the best. I have many of my grandmother's quilts I take out this time of year. Comfort food works as well.

I really don't like Kimchi. That is good to know Kimchi help you sleep. I have medications for sleep. I skip them one night and I had a lot of dreams I remember when I woke up. Now I don't have so much dreams again. I relax with music and meditations before sleeping

What makes us sleep well surely is individual and different from people to people. Should I eat cabbage in the evening I would feel sick all the night long, also warm milk gives me stomach pain. A piece of chocolate and a hot bath before going to bed help me to sleep better.

@thelme55 A piece of chocolate is enough for me, it is relaxing and the hot bath is good for my muscles and my spine.

@LadyDuck I don’t always have chocolate at home but chocolate powder for making hot chocolate. A hot bath is one of the best thing to do before sleeping.

I had absolutely no idea that Kimchi could have sleep benefits. I'm glad you discovered this and can get some good quality sleep. I've never had Kimchi Normally I don't have trouble falling asleep but sometimes I have trouble going back to sleep if I get up to use the bathroom.
