A beautiful house but no-one to share it with

The house we’re minding is situated on one of the canals in a marina at Busselton in south-west Western Australia. Most of the houses here are very spacious and have their own private jetties and an area where they can tie up their boats. The owner of our house has five boats at the moment, which might seem a bit excessive but to each his own.
The photo shows the house across the street from the one we’re staying in. The owner has gone to Bali too. Hers is a sad story as, after years of hard work and saving, she and her husband built this but only had a few months in it before the husband got an aggressive form of motor neurone disease and passed away.
I can’t really get a photo of the front of 'our' house as it faces the canal.

Well, that's life, isn't it? As the song goes, "Riding high in April, shot down in May."

They ran a roadhouse in the middle of nowhere until they could build this. So sad.

How tragic about the husband and timing. It is a lovely home. Enjoy yourselves.

So sad that the owners couldn't get much time to enjoy this house!
Life can be so harsh at times!
The picture says a lot.
So would you be able to avail any boat for ride?
This place can be used for shooting movies or TV series and well I can imagine some nice story plots using this one.
A good place for some action stunts as well!

Ours is one storey but with high peaked rooves. There are sort of three pavilions all attached. It's hard to describe. The best place for a photo would be from the house on the opposite side of the canal but we don't know them as can't really go there.

That’s a beautiful house. A friend of mine has a similar looking house on an island in the Florida Keys.

That neighbor's home is lovely, five boats for what reason? I'm still wondering. Maybe his wife and friends use them for water skis! One on each foot:) And the fifth boat, tows them through the water:) Fun? Let's just pretend and go for a horseback ride instead:)

@JudyEv Time diffuses and she will be able to enjoy what she and her husband created. This situation is quite common and those left behind move on as time helps them to do it.

My husband has always wanted a house on a canal. What a beautiful home across the way. 5 boats? Oh my goodness! So sorry to hear about the owner's husband.
