Waiting For The Electric

To be turned off. They are estimating we will be without until around noon. But if they dont get busy it will be later than that. Hubby has a fire started in the fireplace so we are as ready as we can be. I dont mind as the electric company has been setting all new poles plus now going to run new wires. They are proactive with repairs instead of waiting until everything breaks at once during a storm. So hubby isnt going to town today. He is going to wait until tomorrow. I was just planning on doing some housework so it wont change my day much. Hope you have a good day.

@wolfgirl569 Oh, that's not bad at all. They must have pre-laid the new cable and just needed to hook it up at the power plant and turn it on.

@DaddyEvil They are working in stretches. We also got a new transformer and they had already set a new pole last week. Now they are setting new poles on down the road.

Hope they got that done quickly. I’d hate to think you or anyone would have to be without power for hours on a cold day.

Our power was out a couple of hours a day two weeks ago. We don't know why. Sunday I read an article about someone has shot a power station in a town far from us. The police is investigating the crime, but power are still without power. Yesterday I did a little bit of work and looked at curtains and comforters.

I truly miss having a fireplace. I've never had a gas one, we always cut and hauled wood for ours. The best cozy feeling ever, curling up in front of a wood fire on a dreary day. I hope the power isn't off for too long.

Have a good day too. I remember when the electricity was cut off in our area, even the water service was also gone. I hope that's not the case with you there. But it's good that they are taking preventive measures to avoid disastrous happenings later on.

Load shedding is common here It does not affect us much as we have Home UPS that works for lights, fans, and computer.

I hope your power won't be off for too long but it's good they are being proactive. That doesn't happen all that often.

I hope you're not without electricity for too long. We now have the standby generator which will automatically go on when the power goes out.
