I recall in my younger years, boys daring each other to lick a metal pole or metal fence during the winter, not telling the ones who didn't know what the results of this action would be. Of course, tongue sticking to the pole or fence. I mean, stuck there. When I was in grade school this was something the bigger boys dared the littler boys to do. They didn't find anyone to take them up on their offer very often. I had forgotten all about this, truthfully. I have read 3 posts on facebook about kids trying this today.
