Clocks with noises

MyLotter Always smiling (@allknowing) wrote about her clock which isn’t working at the moment. You can catch up here: The mechanism that supplies the birds’ chirps every hour has stopped working.
My sister has a similar clock but it has got out of sync. When the hand is pointing to the robin, the sound that emerges is a kookaburra laugh. I guess it just needs a bit of adjusting.
I had a somewhat similar clock but there were pictures of horses’ heads and each hour the clock would neigh. But the sounds were so unrealistic that I found it annoying. But I found a good way to fix it. I took its battery out!
The photo is mine of a horse that didn’t like its medicine.
Edit: I just noticed the horse has white eyelashes.
It is not even a year and the clock has stopped chirping. I have changed the batteries and followed what needs to be done with no results. I have not given...

I bought that only because of those chirps and so also the cuckoo clock

@allknowing I never liked the cuckoo clock, it was too noisy. That was the first thing I sold when we emptied Mom's apartment. I found someone who loved that vintage clock.

I was given a clock that is supposed to make different woodland sounds every hour. I've never taken it out of its packaging... I don't like "noise" in the house.

@JudyEv We have a box of gifts we haven't opened further than to see what is in the box. They're in the garage. Sometimes we need a gift and we pass something in that box on to someone else. (And that makes us sound really cheap... right now we have to be cheap. I lost my job two years ago. *shrug*)

@DaddyEvil We often gift things on or make something ourselves. I'm sorry about the loss of your job. I'm sure it's not easy for you.

Thank you for highlighting my post. I understand horse neighs may sound like noises but bird chirps do sound like bird chirps and those birds outside react too
The expression of that horse in the photo is mind blowing.

Aw, that is something - You could turn your sister's clock into a game, guess which bird sound it's playing :-D

The only noise I like from a clock usually is just the lovely ticking, but not just any ticking.
It has to be a certain sound for me.
Also I love chimes, but only certain chimes of clocks too.

I just got hubby a cat clock and it sounds pretty real. For the problem your sister has maybe spinning the hands backwards might help

Love the picture. I had a bird clock and hung it up at work. I don't remember what happened to it.

Talking about clock and alarm. I don't need an alarm because the tenant who sleeps above me (double decker) always ring her alarm everyday. There are about 2 days that her alarm goes off from 5am until 7.30am and I am surprised she still sleeping. Gosh, heavy sleeper but not good for me because I am a light sleeper!

I think that clock would drive me bonkers, lol but I do like ones that bong on the hour.

Those are adorable clocks! (And yes, Americans, if you’ve ever seen a kookaburra [I did at Kentucky Down Under], it sounds like it’s laughing!)
Instead of phony horse sounds I’d rather have one that says, “Hello, I’m Mr. Ed!” at the top of the hour.

That is a cute horse, I had a plastic cuckoo clock which was more cuckoo than color, I hope you and Vince have a very Happy New Year!

I think that is very wise. Clocks with noises are another example of 'be careful what you wish for'.

I think there is enough noise pollution in our lives without adding to it.

You might get tired of the noise over time but you might also enjoy it.
