A mosquito just landed on my laptop screen. It's either the end of winter or the end of the world as we know it. I mean, I know we've been having some weird weather lately, but where did this thing come from? I don't think we've had a long enough string of warm weather for the eggs to hatch, etc. before emerging as an adult bloodsucker.

Beats’ me, Maybe it was an egg left in a warm place and finally popped out.

Could it have come from a basement where maybe a teaspoon of water was left unnoticed? But then again I have heard the blasted things can breed even in cold weather so who knows.

More than a teaspoon...I have a wet basement, but it's cold, even in summer.

That's not good. Mosquitoes are nasty lil buggers. Maybe if you put some vinegar and baking soda on that wet floor it would help some.

I have no idea, it could've just been warm enough.

Maybe it flew in from Florida... we did have winds from the south a couple days ago.

@BarBaraPrz There's hardly any wind, maybe we did send it your way.

Did you kill it? I haven't seen any this weekend with how warm it is but I have seen them during the winter here before.

I swatted at it but it didn't leave a smear on the screen, so I don't know where it went.

@BarBaraPrz No, because the one I killed arrived to suck my blood before I noticed it!

Gosh it’s like flys and lady bugs the second it warms up a tad they are right back out. But a mosquito has to have time to breed so it seems more odd one landed on you.

How annoying! I've had those little gnats land on mine in warmer weather. One thing good about winter no creepy flies or other insects buzzing around the house.
