Coffee And Cake

An acquaintance once told me that her best friend would be a cup of coffee and a slice of her favorite cake.
What about you , do you prefer the company of food over people?.
Some people will have a domesticated animal as their best friend. However l think people will always need people, so my preference will always be one or two sincere human friends.

I have three close friends. We share our feelings, celebrate good times and support each other in bad times.

My best friend is my boyfriend and I really love to be in his company 
I think for humans it is important to have some company otherwise we tend to feel depressed. Food is great but it will never take a human's place.

I do have a best friend but sadly we don't live near each other anymore so I haven't seen her in a few years. But we do manage to earmark time for a good long phone call at least every two weeks. We each have our cup of coffee and chat and it's almost as good as having visit.
Of course my little pup is sleeping on my lap as I'm writing this and she doesn't bring a lot of comfort and joy to my life.

First, my best friend is God. Second, my best friend is domesticated animals. My third best friend, would be a fresh cup of coffee with a piece of carrot cake:)

@kobesbuddy. I hope their attitude will change one day. Sometimes family members cause more problems for us than someone who is not related.

God is my best friend too, I know he is there . l feel his presence but l can't see him or touch him.
I have experienced having back stabbing friends. Years ago l confided to a 'friend', that l was getting into the magazine business and told her the kind of magazine l was working on. She went ahead and did it before me.

I don't mind being by myself while enjoying cake with either coffee or tea. Company isn't always a bother these days because after casual conversations, people would just bring out their phones and scroll to whatever catches their interest. Sometimes, showing companions what they find amusing to share a laugh or two.
For cakes, I prefer those that aren't too sweet.. and if they are, tea would be nice to pair it with. Coffee is also good, especially on breaks in the afternoon.. or that time before clocking out of work.

I do have a best friend but not in my city. We keep in contact through Facebook. My companion now is our little puppy Kittu.
