A view of our latest house-sit

I took this photo of our new house-sit home on our way back from checking that the horses had water. It is quite an imposing house, perched on a hilltop and with very nice stone retaining walls. I’ll put a photo of them another time. It’s been windy here today and we’ve done quite a bit of hand-watering as pots can dry out quickly in the wind. There are pots everywhere and you have to remember to look up and down as some are in hanging baskets or on tops of cupboards while others are tucked under benches. Hopefully, we won’t miss any.

Hmm... it does look like a nice house from the outside. I bet playing hide-and-seek with plants wasn't something you thought you'd have fun doing today, was it?

@JudyEv I guess, they have complete state-of-the-art home equipment. I love that, a house in the center of a farm (more like a rural area) but with all the modern amenities I would like to enjoy. I wish house-sitting is also practiced in my area.

This is a more modern one and very neat and clean. The others were too but they were older homes.

I'm trying not to. I start on one wall then just keep going round the room and/or through the door and round the next room and water every plant I come to.

It's a beautiful house. I would like a house like that one day, spacious with a big yard (front and back) as well. It seems also refreshing to be able to live there.

It's in the middle of a small farm so there is plenty of room and lots of fresh air.

Lovely! What a neat stone wall . . . much more personality than the concrete block types we have around here. Hope you get to all the plant pots . . . each day you have to do a roll call .

@allknowing These have not been planted long. Once they are more established, they won't get so much water.

You always house-sit pretty big homes, this also look beautiful. Many pots to water during summer is a pain, they need an automated watering system.

@JudyEv For the balcony I bought the "Gardenia" watering system that was very good for potted plants.

Most of the garden is reticulated but not the pots so there is quite a lot to hand-water.

It's nice inside really. A lot of the plants are quite small although there are a couple of 'trees' in their bedroom which reach right to the ceiling.
