Riding on a quad bike

This one is for BarBaraPrz (@BarBaraPrz) who asked to see the quad bike on our house-sit property. We have permission to use it and have been down a time or two to check on the horses’ water-troughs. Despite the warning signs on it about it not being designed for two, I’ve sat on the back behind Vince.
The worst thing about it, for me, is trying to get on and off it with dignity but I’m getting better. I have to get on first then Vince gets on in front and off we go. Now that I've had a ride or two, I'll probably pass in future. There have been lots of accidents on quad bikes with them turning over on sloping ground. I keep telling Vince to be careful which he really appreciates - NOT!!

It is like our 4 wheelers that are so popular. Yes, there are a lot of people who manage to wreck these. They are not allowed on streets and used to ride trails and such, and usually farmers have them, and farmer's kids learn to drive them at a very young age here.

@MarieCoyle Helmets are compulsory here but not too many bother on their own properties.

Yes, they seem to flip over fairly easily. Many parents have purchased helmets for their children to ride these.

Uhm... keeping marital harmony is difficult when one person tries to tell the other one that they're doing something dangerous...
Men tend not to listen well when a woman tells them to "be careful". Just so you're aware. As if you didn't already know that.

Poor Vince.
I still bet he's more careful after you saying it than he would have been if you hadn't, though. That's how guys are, too.

Interesting bike concept.
Yet as you have said, this is not for more than 1 person.
I just hope that Vince runs it on Flat Terrain and doesn't gets carried away after seeing some action movie and tries dare devilry on a slope
I. another discussion, it was a big surprise for me to know that JJ (Scar owner) has totally left Mylot.
His unique style was always interesting.

It's the same here then when a 5 yr old was killed because he was on one they made new laws restricting who and where people could drive them. I still don't get why any parent (probably a father) would allow a 5 yr old boy to drive one.

They are fun but they can also be quite dangerous.

My Dad had one of these on the farm to quickly get across a field or to use to spray a property line or a long fence row.
He had a gator for a gad about, if he had passengers or something to bring here or there as there was space in the back, the little grandkids loved riding in that.
They did not have that while I was growing up.

I've had my ride so that's it for me. Vince will just use it to check the horses' water. Beats walking!!

No really but you have to be careful on hillsides that they don't tip.
