How old is your wall clock?

Wow, they’re all still working? Good buy! A lot of cheap wall clocks are sold here but you can only use them for a short time frame. So it’s ‘normal’ to see wall clocks in some people’s homes that aren’t working

@sol_cee Yeah, I just install a new battery once a year and they tick rather loudly along. Oh, wow! These were guaranteed by the manufacturer for one year after purchase. I would have gotten angry and written to the manufacturer if they had problems, even now. Simple things should continue to work even in old age. Before we moved here, I had a wall clock that also told the temperature in the house and outside. (The temperature outside was measured by a small box outside that sent the information wirelessly to the clock in the house.) When it stopped working, I went to write a letter to the manufacturer and they sent one back to me stating that I had purchased a first generation wireless clock 15 years ago[ em]whistle[/em] and they were happy to know it had worked 14 years past it's guaranteed time...

@sol_cee I don't remember the year. I just remember my daughter had visited us at the time. She carried it home for me from the store cause it was big and heavy.

I like Roman numerals but many kids now can’t read Roman numbers now

@sol_cee I can only read them on a clock. I used to know them all, but over time I've forgotten.

@sol_cee I actually believe it . . . I think that's very common now - sadly. I taught my kids early on because I heard that was happening in schools . . . kids can't tell time anymore or at least they only look at digital time now.

Lol aren’t you cheeky today. But can you imagine how frustrated I was to know that my kids couldn’t tell the time using my wall clock?! I had to teach them from scratch

@sol_cee Mom bought that clock, it was a gift for my father and that one is not "old", but surely "ancient". I left everything to my brother and my niece. it is such a problem to bring things across a Custom.

@sol_cee I am not worrying.. They are hanging high on the walls. You have to climb to touch them.

I find it strange to read that myLotters have a clock in the kitchen. In here, we usually have wall clocks in the living room.

@CarolDM lol it makes sense though. When I’m cooking I use a timer when I can just look at the clock if I have one in the kitchen

@sol_cee There are digital clocks around the television and DVD player in the living room too. But yes the kitchen clock seems popular. Even though I also have a digital clock on the stove and microwave. Three clocks in the kitchen. Kind of silly.
