Todays Weather Is A Mystery

Happy Wednesday Everyone! the weather forecast for today is snow, sleet and then rain. We've been getting alerts and it's all over the tv about the storm . In fact, schools are closed today because of the weather.
The storm was supposed to start in the very early morning hours so when I got up at 8am I totally expected to see a mess outside. What did I see? Absolutely nothing.
And absolutely nothing has continued throughout the morning. Trust me I'm not complaining because I'd much rather have nothing at all.
But, I keep looking outside in anticipation of seeing white stuff falling.
Guess it's anyones guess what the weather will turn out to be today. I wonder if surrounding areas are getting bad weather like the news is saying.
Meanwhile I've enjoyed my coffee, had breakfast and will just let the day unfold.

I think you sent your storm my direction... We got 8 inches/20 cm of snow starting yesterday evening around 5 pm and it's still snowing now. *sigh* The flakes are tiny but they gradually add up. I had to go out this morning and shovel the driveway out to the street. I had to be at one of my doctors so they could vampire me again. (We didn't know why I had to be there until we got there and were told it was a blood draw for testing.)
When we got home at noon, snow was still falling.

@Marilynda1225 Thanks... I have an appointment with the endocrinologist in February and they wanted to see what we were still dealing with before I go in to see them.
It seems like one doctor or another needs to vampire me about twice a month.

That's a lot of snow to have to deal with. We only got a few inches and then the rain washed it all away.
I don't mind having to get blood drawn and am happy I don't have to do it too often. Hope your testing comes back good.

Your storm sounds pretty bad. Thunder, heavy rain and wind isn't a good combination but at least you didn't have any tornadoes

As I mentioned in the discussion, we started out with freezing rain, but it has now switched over to regular ol rain. I hate a cold rain though. I would rather it be snow honestly.

As long as the rain doesn't freeze then I'm okay with rain. I only hate snow when there isn't enough for the snow removal company to come and shovel and plow.

Is that what they call "snain"? I heard that term from a friend in WA recently. My kids ask why they never get school days off because of the weather . Nothing like a forecast that doesn't happen . . . but good when it works out for the best - enjoy it while you can! We are sunny and windy today - they say it's low 70s.

@Marilynda1225 I wish the 70s stuck around . . . I think it's supposed to get colder again. Usually it's early spring for us by now. Wow, so it actually is a warmer winter there this season. Yah, I never heard "snain" before either!

A sunny 70 degree day sounds like heaven to me. Actually our temperatures have been above freezing and we've gotten less snow this year than previous ones (so far)

Throughout the whole US the weather has been crazy with bad storms. Thankfully my area has been pretty good.

Rain and gloom go hand in hand. I spoke too soon when I wrote this as it's snowing now and coming down pretty fast. Enjoy your time on myLot. I'll probably be here on and off most of the day

I hope it remained like that all day, gettin nothin is better than gettin a nasty storm. Here it's just cold and breezy which I don't like but after what I've read many mylotters are putting up with I won't complain. Still, I look forward to the warm weather returning.

This weather is plum goofy. Fifty miles up the road from me it’s snowing to beat the band, and here it’s relatively warm (about 50 degrees).

@Marilynda1225 — we’re in a place that makes things so difficult for the weathermen. As Roger Miller sang, “110 miles ain’t must distance but it sure do make a difference.” We got no snow, while Cincinnati got 5-6 inches.

You are so lucky not to be getting the storm.
It is really coming down here right now.
I see the traffic just crawling by as the roads are slippery looing.
Its that fluffy and wet snow, once the temperatures drop, then everything will freeze and it will be much worse to drive in.

It wasn't a mystery for long 
we wound up getting a few inches of snow and I really thought it was going to pile up since it was coming down fast and furious for awhile.. Then it turned to rain and washed it all away. Thankfully it's been above freezing so no icy conditions to make everything slippery.

We did have white overnight early morning. Then a misting rain. Been dry since. The forecast was snow turn to rain and back to snow

We got maybe 3 inches but then it rained and washed it all away. Thankfully it's been above freezing so nothing froze. Today we have gusting wind

We got some s**w which melted a little in the late afternoon. There were 200 closings but not in our area. Glad your weather wasn't bad.

Seems like we've all been dealing with a crazy winter this year weatherwise. We've had more rain than snow this year so far and the snow totals are way below the average for here
