Nothing like some gas station chicken for dinner...

Is it healthy? No, is it very tasty? I would say yes indeed. There is a gas station/ convenience store close to here that is a very popular place for lunch with those working in the area, mostly blue collar types, and they have a fairly varied lunch menu, and most things they make are good. I don't go there for food very often, but it was that kind of a day. Do you have any gas station convenience store places near you that have good chicken?

We do have our share of gas station pizza, and a few that make and sell sandwiches. I can't think of any of them that sell fried chicken. We do have one place that makes and sells their own donuts every day, but I try very hard not to go inside! Way too tempting!

The ones that are affiliated with donut chains have the best coffee. There is one in the area that has donuts I think they make onsite, but I have never had one

@MarieCoyle I buy donuts when I feel the urge, but fortunately, it doesn't hit all that often. Now, if I could just say the same for chips!

@snowy22315 In the last year or so, I have had one donut. Hard because I dearly love them, but they are just addictive!

Not good chicken, but delicious pizza. We haven't gotten pizza from them since the pandemic began, though.

This place has decent pizza, what I like about it that all the toppings are free. Very thin and small crust though you could eat the whole things yourself if you were hungry enough. The other gas convenience store in this area that has food supposedly has excellent pizza, but it is really pretty expensive...Not gonna pay 20 bucks for a pizza from a convenience store.

@DaddyEvil No place around here has 5 dollar pizza...although a basic little Caesar's is still not too much more than that...it might be 6 by now..

@snowy22315 The pizzas from this place were $5 for a large before Covid. Now, I see them selling for $8 but that's still a good deal when you consider they're really good and the major pizza places charge more than $20 for a large pizza now. Their large pizza always fed Pretty and I two meals each.

Regardless of where it came from, the chicken in the photo looks delicious. Not everything healthy looks that good. Our gas stations don't sell chicken, unless it is jerky.

Well, this is your basic gas station convenience store type place, like a 7-11 type..it is actually Exxon that owns this though. I would say more station convience stores here have chicken then don't.

@snowy22315 I don't think that our corner stores like that offer chicken.

It looks delicious, but everything in moderation. Yes, there are so many gas stations with convenience stores like yours. We usually buy cold bottled water and sometimes Haagen-Daz ice cream bars.

This place had ice cream for awhile, but they decided it was too much work I think.

@DianneN I think they buy it already pre made...They just throw it in the fryer.

I love gas station chicken! One of the gas stations around here carried Krispy Krunch Chicken. Every now and then, I'll get a 4 piece tenders box after work.

They have that here too. In fact I think that is what they use at this place If they don't there is another one not too far away that has it.

The gas station near us doesn’t sell anything hot like that anymore. When I was a teen I went there a lot for pizza. It was so good. I miss it

I will get their chicken once or twice a year maybe. I will more typically get a Reuben there if I am going to get something, or even a pizza.

Where do you get your gas? Most stations nowadays have a store of some kind attached.

There isn't a Safeway close to me well there is one in Culpepper, but I talked about it before. I got sticker shock in there, and haven't been back. Years ago though I had donuts from Safeway at an event, they were probably the best ones I have ever had.

We are not always in the mood to eat healthy, fried chicken time by time can be good. We have a gas station with a convenience store, but they do not sell ready made food.

Ohhh, oh well I mean we are in the sticks so it is a good option but actually almost all the convenience stores sell some kind of food. You know for us fat butt Americans...lol.

Mostly when we eat gas station food, we're reminded why we try to avoid doing it! The food in such places here probably doesn't get turned over as often as it should.
