Pretty pots for pretty plants

Sometime before Christmas, we did some brick-paving for a couple. The husband had had a motor-cycle accident and was six weeks in hospital. The good news is that he is now walking a little but facing more operations on his knee. After finishing paving a garden path, we were given gift vouchers to Bunnings, a huge hardware franchise. I kept telling people I’d be buying a pretty plant pot with my voucher – and Vince would be buying one too. We ended up with the pots that you can see in the photo. There are three stacked one on top of the other. I’m not sure what I’ll plant in them yet. They will brighten up the garden a little I hope. Plans are now taking shape to finish off a ‘conversation area’ but we’re waiting for some cooler weather.

They are stunning looking pots. You'll have to fill them and show us the end result.

They must be some sort of plastic as they are quite light to handle. I'll be sure to show you when I have something growing in them.

@JudyEv Some nice greenery with some pops of yellow would look stunning in them wouldn't it?

@Juliaacv That's true. Ruby Hawk suggested marigolds which is a nice idea.

Those are really pretty. So have you gotten any ideas as to what kinds of plants you'll want to grow in them?

I don't really know. I think they are a bit small for roses but perhaps I'll put geraniums in them. They are easy to grow.

I know these are beautiful pots, but I don't know why I don't find it beautiful to my eyes. Maybe because I don't like red colour.

It's good that we don't all like the same things. What colour would you find beautiful?

@Adie04 They usually call those 'cold' colours. My mother's favourite colour was green. She was a great gardener which probably had something to do with her liking green so much.

@JudyEv Cold colours? I don't know it it's cold or what, but I love blue and green. But not all blue and green too. If the blue is too bright, I don't like it. Somewhere like sky blue, like the umm.... tequilla blue? Something like that. has the combination around blue, light blue, green, light green.

That is a neat alliteration you have attempted in your post By the look of it they do not seem to be made of clay?

@JudyEv I am not discouraging you but clay pots breathe which is necessary for the soil.

No, they are plastic and quite light so won't be TOO heavy even when full of earth.

Geraniums do well here; also succulents and cacti but I'm not so keen on them.

I'll gladly send you some cooler weather. The planters look lovely. They will brighten up your garden. I'm glad the husband is walking a little. I hope the operations he still faces will complete his recovery.

Lovely flower pots. I have the clay ones but don't have the energy to dig mud and plant some flowers which I want to.

These are some sort of plastic and are quite light which is good. Even full of dirt I should be able to manhandle them to where I want them.

I like the bright red color. My neighbor has bright colors in her garden and it looks very nice. I need to buy some new ones for the spring.
