Too Cold So Change Of Plans

Happy Saturday Everyone from a darn right freezing cold Pennsylvania. We're in the midst of an Artic blast but it won't last long and in a few days we'll be back above the freezing mark.
The only thing I worry about when it gets this cold are the pipes freezing. So far it's never happened but I'm alway conscious of it since my son is a plumber and when it gets this frigid he spends lots of time thawing out frozen pipes for customers.
My daughter and I had planned on going to the store for a few groceries but decided against it. Instead we opted for delivery which should be here later this afternoon. It might be mean to say but I'd rather pay a tip and have someone deliver it than have to go out and freeze.
So, today is definitely an inside day and I plan on finishing up an afghan I've been crocheting and since I finished the book I was reading it's time to pick another one.

Is that unusual for Germany? I always pictured Germany to be cold and snowy during the winter months

@Marilynda1225 It's too mild for a real winter, but cold and snowy wouldn't be correct except on the summits of the Alps, the mountain range in the south of Germany.
Snow has become rare during the last winters.

We are finally getting out of that blast here. 30s finally today and then some 40s. Very needed break

I'm sure you're happy to have the temperatures go up into the 30s and/or 40s. We'll be out of this cold snap and next week it will be way up in the high 50s.

That does sounds extremely warm and uncomfortable if the winds were strong and blowing. We had some strong winds yesterday and today is calm but freezing cold

There are still patches of ice under the trees in our back yard and the car still has a coating of ice where it's sheltered from the sun. But otherwise, everything looks clear now.

Its been a good day so far and it's toasty warm with the fireplace on.

It made it all the way to 17 degrees 
. Next week we'll see 50s and maybe even 60s too. Weather certainly is a roller coaster this winter.

Yes, I wouldn't go out unless you have to. It isn't super cold here, but I was out yesterday, so no need today. From Sunday on, it will be a lot more civilized. Stay warm!

I"ve enjoyed the day. Groceries were delivered and the afternoon was relaxing. Now it's time to cook supper and hopefully find something good to watch on tv tonight.

We have this Arctic freeze also, when I woke up this morning it was -3 degrees. Today it got up to a whole 22 degrees but going to be cold again tonight. Friday was the coldest day, i'm ready for Sunday as it's going to be high 40's which is much better. Stay warm, and i've been inside all day too, I did my grocery shopping Thursday before the arctic cold came.

We are just trying to stay warm. Fortunately temps were above 40 degrees F today. Still no heat or hot water.

We don't have it so cold but even Florida temps have dropped and a cold wind is blowing, I have my heater on, Stay warm and have a good SUnday,
