Blast from the Past #4 - Jam Tarts

I made sausage rolls today and had a small amount of pastry left over. I buy the frozen sheets and they make pastry dishes easy. I kneaded the offcuts of pastry into a ball and rolled it out. I cut out five rounds then rolled the offcuts out enough to get one more. Because it was puff pastry, the edges of the tarts are a bit puffy but that’s okay.
I put a spoonful of strawberry jam in each round and made six jam tarts – just like Mother used to make! Jam tarts to me are a blast from the past. You don’t really see them too often nowadays.
There are only five in the photo because I ate one before I remembered to take a photo.

I've never heard of jam tarts... They look interesting, though. I hope you're enjoying them.

Well, you had to give a taste test to one before you photographed them. You wouldn’t want to share a picture of bad-tasting food, would you?!

Of course you did!
I like jam tarts as long as there isn't too much jam in them and they've been baked with the jam in them.
