So, the Oscars Show (Academy Awards) is on soon. Going to watch?

I used to watch every year. Sometimes, I had seen all of the Best Picture nominees. Back then it didn't cost a small fortune to buy tickets. People around you were pretty quiet except for opening candy bars. People did not have phones, did not have distracting lights on during the films. In general, it was a lot quieter in theaters, it seems to me. And, oh yes, the sound during an intense scene, did not make you wish you had earplugs. I doubt if I will watch at all. I have not seen but one of the movies nominated for best picture. It was "The Fabelmans", Spielberg's sort of autobiographical film. I liked it a lot, but it is unlikely to win. I watched a really good one last night called "Empire of Light" that is not included in in the Best Picture category. So, will you watch at all?

@LadyDuck I suspect that you would enjoy The Fabelmans and we watched a film called Empire of Light that was great. It focuse on a Brit cinema in 1980.

@JamesHxstatic I usually turn on Tv a couple of hours before bedtime. Sometimes I find sometimes I want to watch. I found a good movie last night starring Melissa MuCurdy.

I haven’t been to see a movie since 1987. That’s how interested I am.

I watch a lot on TV with Netflix and Amazon, but that movie that won best picture just seems a bit uninteresting to me. Saw The Fabelmans and it was great.

We planned on not watching. I've only seen 2 of the movies and feel out of the loop. Did check everything online this morning.

I used to see many of the movies nominated so I felt like I had more vested interest. I haven't seen one of them in years. I will watch part of it. Thanks for reminding me. I usually have the DVR set.

I no longer watch the awards. I do not know many of the latest actors so it is not interesting to me anymore,

I've afraid we never watch these sorts of shows. We don't even see many films although we now go every week to the clubhouse to watch whatever they choose for us.

I'm watching the red carpet show. I will watch some of the beginning but I won't be able to stay up for the whole thing. I want to see The Fabelmans. It isn't on streaming yet, though, except to "rent" from Amazon Prime. I already pay for Prime. I'm not paying extra to see it. I can wait.

Nah. It just doesn't interest me. Anyway, it's become more of a platform than a show. Hollywood is not as interesting as it once was. Who wants to watch spoiled brats pat each other on the back? lol
