In the past few days I have caught Bitty smelling of flatware that had peanut butter on it. I have seen her trying to open the jar. I had some peanut butter with some ginger snaps for a morning break. Just for fun I offered her some on my finger. At first she just rubbed her chin on my finger. . . then she had to figure out how to get the peanut butter out of her fur. Having cleaned herself up, she decided I needed to continue to share with her. I have had cats that liked English Peas and cats that fought over corn on the cob. One cat liked apricots. This is my first peanut butter kitty. I know dogs like peanut butter. I had a rabbit that liked peanut butter. I do know that for dogs you must make sure your peanut butter is not sweetened with xylitol, it will kill them. I do not have xylitol (an artificial sweetener) in any of my foods. Bitty is safe with me.

Hmm... I wonder if my fishies would like a taste of peanut butter? I know dad used peanut butter balls for bait...

They probably would if you could get an efficient delivery system that did not murk up the waters.

@GardenGerty I was thinking about just smearing a bit on my finger and see if they like it. They often eat food from my fingers.

I don't recall any of our cats liking peanut butter. We had a yellow tiger cat who loved popcorn.

Hmm, interesting. Nico likes certain fruits, in particular melon...but does not seem partial to peanut butter. He will eat some salmon and chicken.

I guess they need some fruits now and then, especially if they are indoor cats.

My grandcat Alfie used to like to eat Planters Dry Roasted peanuts with "dad" when they were watching hockey on TV. His mom liked Miss Mew kitty stew but would leave the peas behind.

Wow that’s really good to learn that about the ingredient to check for in peanut butter before giving to dogs. I didn’t know that.

I didn't know that about the sweetener. I know our dogs loved peanut butter. It never hurt them. I'm glad Bitty Kitty likes peanut butter.

I had no idea cats liked so many different foods. Our cats got their kitty food and mooched off us from time to time but usually stuff like chicken sausages or bacon Had a Parrot once who loved Mars bars and coffee

I don't eat peanut butter so Tuffy hasn't smelled it yet. I did buy a jar for Roscoe when he was young but he's not crazy about the stuff either
