Do you have people that come to your door for money?

We have people that come and ask for money and if I do not really have it then do not answer the door. I will look out to see who is there and if do not know them will not even talk to them. Do you have those that come to your door only when they want money for some reason? Do you know them or not?

In my neighborhood, there are people who come to the door all the time, especially on Friday afternoons. They come and ask for charity. I try to keep a can of small change and just give them two coins and hope that it is enough and that they will go away.

That could very well be. Do people in your area know anything about her that you can find out if she is alive or not?

Maybe she is not alive anymore or maybe she does not need the alms. Who knows where she is?

Like someone said during the Corona they have not appeared at my door very much. Thank you for caring and I hope they do not bother you.

this is something different. This is people coming and asking for money and not paying it back but wanting it for whatever reason.

That is a different story altogether. I am glad that they are honest and pay you back. The ones I am talking about just want money.

Here too we have strangers coming to the door and asking for money. SOmetimes they ask in the name of religion or sometimes ask for donations for some charitable organizations. We don't even know if the organizations exist or not. I never encourage giving money to strangers this way.

There are quite a few homeless people in my community. A man rode to our house last year and said he'd mow our lawn for a fee. We agreed but since then he has been back- and having someone keeping an eye on when I am going in to the house and out makes me nervous. The last time he approached me I told him no I didn't want him to rake my leaves. (Not being tidy with leaves is better for the environment, too.)

The neighborhood that I live in does not allow solicitors in any way. But the way the world is now, most people do not often see them anymore, and if one does show up and ring the doorbell, they don't answer. Plus, many of us have outside camera systems that automatically show us who is out there, and if you don't want to answer, you just don't.

I figured the person showed up because our holiday is soon upon us and they want money. Not everyone opens the door.

These are people that come to doors and ask for money for their family or various reasons and not selling things but just want money from people. If I do not know them I do not answer the door. I sold Girl Scout cookies when I was a child. This is not the same thing.

No, I cannot recall hearing anyone having people just come to the door asking for money. But I do know that there are more homeless people all over the world than there has ever been before.
