Same Breakfast Day In and Day Out

United States

Happy Thursday Everyone! it's a rainy day here today but the temperatures are supposed to be fairly warm. Are you a breakfast eater? I do but I don't eat early. Usually around 11am when I have my second cup of coffee and pop on here to myLot for awhile. Lately my "go to" breakfast has been cream cheese and jelly on either a toasted cinnamon raisin English Muffin or toasted whole wheat bread and a handful of grapes. I get on these kicks and tend to eat the same thing over and over and then will switch to something else and eat that over and over. My last "go to" breakfast was peanut butter on whole wheat toast until one day I decided to shake things up and started my cream cheese and jelly kick. This past grocery shopping I got a container of strawberry whipped cream cheese so now I can have the flavor of the jelly without the calories and sugar. I guess I'm a boring breakfast eater and will probably wake up one morning and decide to have a bowl of cereal Do you like variety?

Yes, I do like variety, but usually go the old fashioned route and eat yesterday's leftovers for breakfast instead. I had a boyfriend once who ate a bowl of Product 19 Soup (will explain below) for breakfast every day. Then, he switched to Total Soup, until he tried to tell me I needed to buy generic cereal. I told him where to get off, so he switched to the store brand of Raisin Bran Soup. He always had so much more milk than cereal in his bowl that it may as well have been soup, rather than a bowl of cereal.

I do like variety. And variety it is around here Marilyn. Your breakfast sounds lovely. Today I had fresh baked soda bread. Hot and fresh out the oven slathered with Kerrygold.

I used Kerrygold while making my Kraft Dinner ([KD]: also known as Kraft Mac & Cheese and Cheesey Pasta) this morning.

I do try to be a variety person! I usually drink green tea or coffee early in the morning and don't have a chance to eat until around 11a.m. I don't really have breakfast at the table . . . I grab dandelion greens and brazil nuts, or sourdough with peanut butter, or whatever we have. Ohhh, how is that strawberry whipped cream cheese??

@Marilynda1225 Ah, I guess jelly would have a fruitier taste than the cream cheese stuff. Yah, we try to keep lots of nuts around for anytime.

The strawberry cream cheese is okay. It isn't as good as adding my own jelly but it's good on a cinnamon raisin muffin. Nuts are nutritious so I can see why you grab some for your breakfast.

It's raining off and on again today but, at least it's 70F at about noon... That was supposed to be our high today. I do eat breakfast most days before I go to sleep... Most of the time I eat sausage, egg and cheese on a croissant out of the Jimmy Dean box in the freezer. YUM! I eat Cheerios for an evening snack once in a while. I hope you have a wonderful day.

@Marilynda1225 Sometimes I make my own breakfast sandwiches but they aren't as pretty as Jimmy Dean's sandwiches.

@DaddyEvil I don't buy them as I don't like eggs but I do like his sausages.

I have eaten pretty much the same breakfast for years now, with a few rare exceptions. I eat a good sized bowl of whole wheat cereal, add a tablespoon or two of home made granola (roasted nuts, raw oats, raisins & cranberries) and a tablespoon or two of plain yogurt with a little milk. Sometimes I add a whole or half English muffin with almond butter. I' m lucky that don't gain weight easily at all.

That sounds like a healthy, filling and delicious breakfast. I love your idea of adding your home made granola to it. I definitely would enjoy that breakfast

I do. I try not to get stuck in food ruts. I had an English muffin with fig butter this morning. I used the last of a jar, and luckily got another one at TJ's yesterday. It is really delicious..seems to have a lot of sugar in, but maybe some of it is natural.

I like to stick with the same breakfast food, I always have a very small dish of cinnamon bran flakes with fresh strawberry slices and milk, and of course that wonderful morning cup of coffee.

I was on a cereal kick for awhile and I love raisin bran with milk and a banana. Even if my eyes are open my day doesn't officially start until I have my coffee

I like variety, but our breakfast are never too different one from another. English muffins and cream cheese, blueberry muffins, toasted bread and jam, usually accompanied by a small bowl of Greek yogurt and some berries.

My breakfast is pretty standard - eggs with plant-based cheese, a banana, and a potato. If I change it up, it's oatmeal with a banana.

I eat the same almost every morning - oatmeal with milk, hard boiled egg, a slice of whole wheat bread. I have fried noodles once or twice a month.

You got me there, cereals and oatmeal are usually my breakfast food, and I also eat late 11 am, so I call it brunch, because it is breakfast and lunch as well.

I don't have a fixed breakfast. Or at times there is a Breakfast and Lunch combined (call it Brunch??). Now is that exciting - well not much. In fact I would love to have some stability but there are factors beyond my control!! Anyways enjoy your Breakfast routines!!

Those aren't the kinds of breakfast foods I'd eat but I'll bet you'd probably not eat spaghetti for breakfast, would you?

I am not a breakfast eater. I am usually up around 5am, even on the weekends, and lunch doesn't happen until around 11 or so. I usually eat leftovers at work. At home on the weekends I might just make a sadwich. When it comes to any food I like to change it up a bit even if I do have certain staples.
