Found some unusual hacks to make house cleaning a little more efficient. As you know, household surfaces can sure collect a lot of dust and hair over time making cleaning difficult. Do you ever have a hard time getting all the pet hair out of your carpet while vacuuming? Well, if you do this hack should help out.
CARPET CLEANING & PET HAIR- SQUEEGEE TO THE RESCUE
When it's time to clean windows, you can't beat a squeegee for a sparkling clean shine. Well, here's another use for that rubber-edged scaping instrument. You can use one of those scrapers to pre-treat you rug and rid it of those toughest clumps of pet hair. This hack should make for some easier vacuuming. Now isn't that getting control of a "hairy situation."
DIRTY BLINDS- GRAB SOME TONGS
I find cleaning blinds so tedious that I let way too much dust collect on them. Trying to get all that dust off both the top and bottom of each blind becomes a real chore. I'm hoping this hack helps make it a faster and easier process.
Just fasten some microfiber cloths or an old t-shirt to the tongs with some rubber bands to create a specialized cleaning tool. The tongs can now remove dust from the bottom and the top of the blinds all at once!
And there you have it, household cleaning done quicker and more efficient... Have you ever heard of using these ideas to help with house cleaning? How do you clean your carpet and blinds?

Yes, I've used the sock idea too. Also good for hair along tiled bathroom floors.
If your curious here are some other squeegee uses, you might try:
-I've used a squeegee to clear the droplets off the shower door after showering.
-Use it to smooth out the air bubbles when hanging wallpaper.
-Use for cleaning tile or hardwood floors for a deeper clean.
Enjoy this dog hair humor

Those are good points but I use a vacuum to suck up broken glass and since I only have a shower curtain that idea isn't gonna work for me but I will use one in my car although whenever Roscoe travels with me he has a towel he lays on.
Hmmm, speaking of which I probably need to wash that towel

We only have carpeting upstairs, thank goodness. We have five cats and two of those are long haired. We only find occasional clumps of hair.
We have heavy, old-fashioned blinds. They are very heavy and next to impossible to clean.

I don't have to worry about the carpet, because we don't have any. We have small rugs that you can just take outside and beat with a stick.

@dgobucks226 I was joking, as that was an old-fashioned things that people did with sheets and things. But, our rugs aren't ththick enough to collect much. So, when we take them outside, a light shake does it.

I am so happy to have no carpet. The hardwoods are very much enjoyed. And I am getting rid of the blinds, one room at a time. Dust collectors is what they all are. Thanks for the tips with the tongs. A new idea that sounds easy peasy. I currently use microfiber cloths to clean.
