Republicans: Who would you rather see as President of the United States? Donald Trump? Or Ron DeSantis?

We're not allowed to do polls here on MyLot. I therefore declare this not a poll. But I would like to know who you would like to see as the Republican Candidate in 2024, former President Donald Trump, or Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis. And what your reasons might be. Many polls still show Trump ahead of DeSantis. But in Iowa, it appears that DeSantis is gathering some steam. I do not like Ron DeSantis's policies. And I gather some Republicans see him as "not yet" ready to face Trump. But I would rather him be the Republican candidate than Donald Trump. I believe DeSantis to be sane, and not to be a career criminal. What are your thoughts? And, of course, what are your favorite news sources?
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is leading former President Trump in a hypothetical head-to-head primary race in Iowa and tied in New Hampshire, according to new polls. The polls, which were provided to Axios, found that 45 percent of Iowa respondents said t

2 terrible choices but I'd go with DeSantis. We've already seen how terrible Trump was.

Some say that DeSantis is more dangerous than Trump, because he is smarter. But I would rather see him nominated than Trump.

Neither one. BUT and this is huge so get it straight: IF I was falling off a cliff, I believe I could trust DeSantis to attempt to grab me. Trump?? He'd toss his own Grandma off a cliff if she didn't make him money.

Some say that DeSantis is more of a threat, as he is smarter than Trump. But I don't see him as a threat to democracy itself.

Ron DeSantis reminds me of former President Ronald Reagan's facial looks. Donald Trump who has experience as a businessman would get the economy back to sanity.

Trump lost money owning casinos and went bankrupt 6 times. How do you lose money owning a casino? Trump Steaks? Trump Ice? Trump Vodka? Trump Air? Trump Mortgage? Trump University? Trump Magazine? Trump the game? Gotta go--going to watch the New Jersey Generals. . . oh wait.

@DeepizzaguyGeorge, Trump couldn't run his own businesses. You want a career criminal in the White House? Do you think he cares about the American public? He only wants to be President to keep himself out of jail. You are too decent to want Trump!

It obviously is not a poll as we are allowed to express opinions and say why we dislike and whom and really discuss the pros and cons (both of them). I had rather not have anyone who is on the wacko side.

No polition is perfect, and I have a love-hate relationship with politics in general. But, I do feel that Ron is doing his best, and his good actions outweigh the bad. I think that should he run, he's got a fair shot.

Dilemma - a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two or more equally undesirable choices If I were forced to choose between one or the other or leave the country - I'd seriously consider becoming an ex-pat. Tis a choice between Mussolini and Hitler. I choose to abstain.

Destroying Florida morally, with his any-gay and anti-book ideas? Or in other ways? Anne from Georgia suggests looking into this guy:

I discussed it with her this evening when I got back from playing music. All she wanted was a butt scratch and some wet food. Maybe she could help the economy. She seems to be a pragmatist.
