I bet many of you never knew these wonderfully interesting facts. I'm also sure you never gave any of these trivial facts any thought either.
But like a good joke here are a couple of them I found, which you can spring on someone to impress them with your amazing knowledge of useless information.
Here are some fascinating number facts that are quite remarkable!
GOLF BALLS
If you're a golfer or ever played miniature golf before you might have wondered about all those dimples on the golf ball.
-Why do those golf balls have so many dimples on them? Up to 500 of those little hollowed areas on the surface of a golf ball as a matter of fact.
Although most usually contain 336. So, what is the purpose of all those dimples anyway?
"Dimples create the aerodynamic ability to hit golf balls for distance."
*Have you ever played golf or tried hitting golf balls? How was your experience?
BLOOD VESSELS
I knew from health class that blood vessels were important for carrying oxygen to all areas of body, but never realized these 2 facts about them.
-Blood vessels are really tiny! Smaller than a strand of your hair.
-And there are a lot of them! If you took them out of your body and made them into a single row, they would stretch 100,000 miles. That's enough milage to circle the globe easily twice, yikes!
Hope you found these interesting obscure facts entertaining.
Which fact did you find most interesting? I'll provide some additional fun facts to add in my response to you... Always fun to learn something new and obscure,

I knew about the dimples in golf balls. I would be curious to try a ball without dimples to check personally if it really makes difference. I play gold, I am a very bad player.
Blood vessels are of different sizes, those you described here are capillaries, the smallest blood vessels.

@dgobucks226 - My brother is angiologist, doctor specialized in blood vessels, I know quite a bit of this. My husband has an aortic aneurysm and we see his angiologist every 3 months. I had to know more than I wanted about blood vessels.
I am such a bad golf player, I am sure that for me the ball makes no difference.

Great question! Fun fact about Golf: It was discovered accidentally that dented balls or ones with chips in them actually flew farther and straighter than smooth ones. That led to the change away from smooth surface golf balls.
The 2 advantages of dimples versus a smooth ball which was used in the early days of golf were 1. better accuracy and 2. they flew farther in the air. I provided for you a link on the history of the golf ball below if you're interested on how it developed.
Golf can be a very challenging game that's for sure!
Amazing golf fact: The youngest golfer to ever shoot a hole-in-one was by a five-year-old boy named Coby Orr. This amazing shot happened in Littleton, Colorado in 1975. Wish I had his golf swing
Yes, capillaries the final branch of those blood vessels.
Here is an educational/historical fact regarding blood vessels I found interesting:
Blood vessels help maintain a comfortable body temperature. Prolonged exposure to cold and wet temperatures below freezing (32F) can make your vessels constrict, causing skin tissue to die and leading to a condition called Trench Foot. A common problem with soldiers during WWI.
Golf link: hope it works!

@LadyDuck Ha, ha. Sometimes the ball makes no difference for me too! That sounds like a very serious condition as the Aorta is such a large vessel.

@JudyEv Common WW I term. Soldiers were exposed to very moist cold conditions especially after rain with no way to dry their feet/shoes. After a time, their feet would eventually turn blue, red and swell leading to skin breakdown and infection. Sounds really nasty!

Those soldiers really suffered during that war. Now I know how they got that dreaded Trench Foot

@rebelann Yes, scary! And these soldiers have no way to prevent it from happening. Much like mountain climbers in extreme conditions getting frostbite.

I had no idea how small they were! When I see them through my skin, they look quite thick. I guess it's the capillaries that are that small.
