I just asked Kitty to get us a turkey.

I have been complaining that I have not heard enough birds this Spring. But just now I heard some turkeys gobbling outside, maybe 70 yards away. Kitty heard them too and came in, asking what she should do. I rubbed her back and told her to go get one. If she would feather it, I would cook it up, I said. Kitty is now out hunting turkeys. I can still hear them gobbling. I cooked up some Progresso soup just now, in case Kitty fails on her mission. Do you have wild turkeys where you live?

Wild turkeys live in the woods around the city, yes. None in the city, as far as I know.

They're everywhere in the suburbs here. And nearby small towns. I'm not sure whether they're in San Francisco. My guess is that they are.

@m_audrey6788 I think the bald eagle was a good choice.

Interesting that they have them in Africa. I think they almost became the US national bird, as they're so prevalent here.

The ones here look pretty well-fed. But they're a bit stringy when they join you for dinner.

We do not have wild turkeys here. They are too big for a cat, I noticed that the hunting kitty of my neighbor does not even chase crows, too big for him.

@TheHorse My cat is not a hunter, the one of my neighbors kills birds, lizards and small snakes.

@LadyDuck I spoil Kitty. I wonder if she will "retire" from hunting.

Kitty specializes in fence lizards, sparrows, and mice.

I have not seen them in my neighborhood, but nearby. Just because I have not seen them does not mean they are not here, though.

I don't think we do have wild turkeys around here now that I think about it. I'm not quite where I would look to find them.

No wild turkeys here, just pheasants. What is Progresso soup?

Progresso soup is a good brand on non-condensed soup.

Yes; but I haven't seen any recently. We had a whole bunch of hens in front of and beside the car when we were in Erie PA. I unfortunately did not have my camera at the time. :-(

I've heard turkeys are really big and I'd think most kitties wouldn't try to mess with them. Nope, they aren't around here, I'm guessing it's too hot and dry for them.

I could just picture Kitty coming in the door with a turkey in her mouth. I have not seen any wild turkeys here,

Yes we do, not here in our part of town, but where we formerly lived. Sometimes people have to stop and wait for a flock to cross the street. They are protected by law.

It was probably a very good idea to good up some soup just in case.
