Barbecued Chicken and Baked Beans

Tonight for supper we had barbecued chicken and baked beans. For a veggie I made some cauliflower, the frozen type. We think the frozen veggies taste better than the canned vegetables.
It was delicious! Am I a good cook? No, I just do my best to fix a tasty, healthy meal for us. Jay loves everything I fix, I'm blessed with a very wonderful husband.
For desserts I had vanilla cake with white frosting, a very small piece.

@AmbiePam One time(before I knew him), Jay fixed a pot of chili for his girlfriend and her two daughters. It was too hot(spicy hot), none of them could eat it!

I like to add bread with our meals, but Jay isn't eating very much bread. He's trying to keep his weight down.

@kobesbuddy That sounds good. The only way I can eat sweet potatoes is with brown sugar and cinnamon.

We had canned sweet potatoes tonight, I fixed them with butter and sugar. They reminded me of Thanksgiving, when Mom was alive. She would mash sweet potatoes, I loved them:)

I agree. When you can't get or don't have fresh, frozen are much better than canned.

Oh, Kharla, that all sounds so good. I have been wanting barbequed chicken for a while now, I hope to fix some soon. My son asked me to make Cowboy beans as well, so that would be good with it.
If you have an appreciative husband, you are a fortunate lady indeed.

I dearly love BBQ. Sometimes, if I am not eating it at home, it is too spicy for me or someone thinks they have to make it with hot sauce in the BBQ, which I cannot have. But just normal BBQ is delicious.

We only buy meats that are on sale. We can't afford to pay full price for most packaged meat. Chicken isn't quite as expensive, but beef is far too expensive!

We buy the great value bags of frozen vegetables. The broccoli/cauliflower is our favorite.

I love tomato soup and grilled cheese, it brings back good memories of lunchtime at school! Every Friday, they would serve tomato soup and grilled cheese, I enjoyed it!
