While my oatmeal cooks

I thought I might just hop in here while my oatmeal cooks. I have gotten to where I do not want to even think about planning meals. In my oatmeal this morning I have dried cherries and pecans and cinnamon. I guess I am getting hungry. We will go to church in a bit. Then hang out at home the rest of the day. Weather has jumped to being hot, but that is okay. It is not so hot I need air conditioning. I do need to turn out the pilot lights on the furnaces, though. That will make it even more comfortable in here. I like having four seasons in the year, but they do make for extra chores. They also make for extra pleasures like sitting outside. I want to dig up some lemon balm for my coworkers to have in their herb gardens this year. I may do that after church.

Pretty turned the air on last night after it reached 85F in the house. I turned it back off two hours later. I was cold.

I absolutely hate air conditioning, even though you can't live without it in the summer. It always gets frigid to me, and while it's nice to walk into when coming in from the hot, after a couple hours you want to go back out into the hot. lol

@porwest Normally, I just get a lap rug when I get cold in the air conditioning and I'm fine again.

I have a heated mattress pad and it sure feels nice on a cool evening.

Uh, mind if I make the long trip up to Kansas for those cookies that sound like the best thing ever?

That was breakfast oatmeal. It would make a good cookie as well.

I've been having oatmeal for breakfast the last few days as it's been quite cold here. We're definitely moving towards winter.

It has been literally decades since I have eaten oatmeal. It wasn't that I didn't like it. I just never think to eat it anymore.

@porwest It's easy to forget about a certain food that you might once have liked.
